Wow, I didn't realize Sadaka sang that song! I thought it was Loggins & Messina.lol I have no clue on who is singing bgv but this doesn't sound like a Sedaka song. Sounds like a song that should have been pitched to a rock group but if he is singing it he probably wrote it. I thought he just sang sweet 16 little love kind of songs.

It wasn't one of my favorites of his. As Kattie mentioned, he was known for love longs. But, he did score a #1 hit with it.
 
I thought I heard Elton John at first...then as I listened more I couldn't figure it out. I've never heard this song and the thought of Neil Sedaka trying to rock out explains "The Hungry Years". LOL

Ok, I finally looked it up. I would never have guessed.

Hint: This song was replaced at No 1 by the person singing back-up.
 
Neil Sedaka? Really? Ugh. You can throw Neil Diamond in that category, too. Jesus could have been singing backup and it wouldn't have improved the song. I'm with Sadie and SD on this one - and we know things.

Well, you gotta do what you gotta do. Although, I do wonder how deep our long-standing and intense friendship was if it can be erased over Neil Diamond. :D
