Interesting polls

I was hopeful, but without funding and a ground game... I think he might only have 35%

Garvey, a former MVP and perennial All-Star who played for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres, calls himself a “conservative moderate” who shouldn’t be buttonholed into conventional political labels, an obvious pitch to independent and soft Democratic voters in a state where registered Republicans are outnumbered by Democrats nearly 2-to-1.

The race has been largely overlooked in a year when control of the Senate will turn on a handful of competitive races, including in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Nevada and Montana.

The Republican Party has struggled in the nation’s most populous state for years, though it retains pockets of strength in rural areas, the Central Valley farm belt and parts of Southern California.

Democrats hold every statewide office and dominate the Legislature and congressional delegation by commanding margins. Republicans haven’t won a statewide race in the state since 2006.

Garvey aimed a final advertising push at Latinos, who make up about a quarter of likely voters in California.

Yes, and he, unlike Schiff, did not have a bunch of money to spend... he does have name recognition from being a beloved sports celebrity.

The GOP did not support him in the primary at all. Oddly Adam Schiff had commercials for people to support Garvey because Schiff was more concerned about the other Democrat who was running against him. In CA the top 2 from the primary go forward. Party is not considered.

Schiff is not very well liked, but some will vote only party... the reason Schiff wanted to run against Garvey.

Many are supporting Garvey, I just don't think it will be enough.
You can think McConnell for that. The GOP in the Senate has a PAC.

Good video, it explains how the media used bad pollsters to overstate Harris' numbers.

America needs to wake up and realize just how hard the media tried to rig this election.

Loads of different polls out there on Trump's approval ratings, but he's doing pretty well, especially considering where his numbers were not so long ago. Most legit polls are showing him at or slightly above 50% approval. Given how strong the manufactured Trump hate still is, that's pretty amazing!

A few reasons I think are behind this:

1) Trump's image has considerably improved. His public appearances at events such as the Super Bowl and Daytona 500 are extremely well received and the people are eating it up. I also think the voters have been able to see him as a family man and witness his sense of humor. These things have made Trump much more likable than he was in his first term.

2) Like him or not, he's assembled a great team and hit the road running. Polls show strong support for most of what Trump is doing, especially in areas of cutting wasteful spending and rolling back DEI and other stupid stuff Biden did.

3) Trump's border policy is quite popular. Black voters, in particular, are pleased with this. A young black man in my industry I've become friends with tells me the open border policies were very unpopular among younger blacks.

It will be interesting to watch how this plays out. There's still a sizable percentage of voters who have a seething hatred for the man, but as time goes on, I suspect it will be hard for them to continue to justify that hate. Facts eventually trump (no pun intended) emotions.

The Democrat's generic UNfavorable numbers are approaching 60%.

The party is a massive wreck right now, and it appears most of their leadership just wants to keep doing the stupid crap that got them in this mess. Word is that a lot of the rank and file members of the party are calling for change, and to take a more moderate line.

And then they made David Hogg the DNC co-chair... now he's screwing up by the numbers!! They made their bed, let 'em lay in it.

LOL, but the liberal polls show the country hates him. Never trust a poll....

Just as with the election polls, just gotta know which to trust

Americans have clear opinions on Trump's performance in his first 50 days

As usual, depends on the pollster. But remember who was right and who was wrong before th eelection.

The latest Yale Youth Poll confirms the trend we’ve seen at one campus after another: The youngest voters have turned sharply to the right.

Yale found 22-29 year olds favored Democrats by ONLY 6.4 points. But kids of college age, 18-21, lean Republican by almost 12 (!!)

The most dramatic generational political swing in history is unfolding before our eyes.
