the distrust... it is amplified by the fact people's ability to discuss things like Covid, (the Vaccine, drugs that may help cure or lessen effects of covid once contracted,) are being silenced, suppressed, black listed, ridiculed.
They are conditioning us to see our freedom as selfish. Mandating vaccines, mandating masks, mandating how many feet we stay away from each other, mandating we show a vaccine card to participate in life- in our jobs, this is not the America I grew up in.
Using smallpox to covid is an odd comparison.
We know smallpox was horrible in children and adults... it had a 30% death rate vs a 1.6% death rate for covid (with 87% of the deaths in adults 60 and older.)

Surly you are not suggesting a virus that took 3000 years to eradicate, and almost 200 years to perfect a vaccine is comparable to a vaccine rushed to market in under a year and that is in the infancy of testing, on a virus made in a lab in China in 2019? ... Too many are suggesting that we now are supposed to just accept that America's politicians mandate 100% of people in America age 1 to 100, should vax.
As I see it, many under 35 have no reason to do so as they have little risk of having Covid and often have very mild symptoms whereas with all vaccines, there can be side effects or problems. Why expose the young to those when the risk from the vaccine is more than the risk of Covid?
The older population has had their shots, so they are protected... soon they will get a 3rd jab. But we each must make our decision based on our personal risk/reward for the covid vaccine. I am absolutely against the mandate, or the "covid passports."
Those who already have had Covid, who have natural antibodies have no need to... but facebook and many other media will not even let that conversation happen?

The smallpox vaccine is different than the mRNA, covid vax. The covid vax does not have any history of use yet. It was rushed to help
reduce deaths in the elderly. I was absolutely willing to have my 83 year old mom vaxed, 'cause even if it caused an extra arm to grow out of her forehead... it really won't matter, because she will probably not live long enough for that to impact her life vs a 50% chance of death if she got Covid.
A 5 year old is totally different... in most cases, they don't even show symptoms more than a sniffly nose, and yet as a society we are not allowed to discuss that, or Zuckerberg et all will turn off the facebook, youtube, and social media accounts?
