I will never own a gun... I was a victim when I was 5 and shot by another kid because of guns laying around.
then my brother got down in the dumps one night and killed himself with a gun....
i see both sides of the debate .. but there will always be good people and bad people, there will always be bad gun owners and good gun owners
I for one choose to be a non gun owner..with that said..no you can not have my address
some people believe I am dumb for not having a gun but It is my choice and I will stand by it
when it is my time to go it is my time to go...
I respect that.
The important thing is that we have the choice.
agreed but some people make the wrong choices
I know that they are ours to make but dang... I only gave 2 instances where people with guns have changed my families life... sadly I have a few more stories to tell and none are positive
my biggest beef with guns is why are all these high power assault weapons and machine guns and other multi round guns avaible to the public... why does one need an arsenal of weapons... that is my only concern... I know it is our right as a free country but as a citizen it concerns me that some laws are so laxed
Well, the "assault weapons" hoopla is more significant in the news than in reality.
Fully automatic military grade weapons are illegal to own. And the legal "assault weapons" are little different than hunting rifles.
GC can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the vast majority of crimes committed using firearm are done with illegal firearms. And that gives credence to the saying "when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns". Gun control only disarms the law-abiding citizen.
I was raised in a time when we had guns laying all over the house. But, we were taught at an early age how to use them, and what they were capable of. My dad gave me a .22 at 10 or 12 years old, and I was free to spend my summers carrying my gun around without supervision, plinking cans or whatever. I realize that such a thing is considered horrible by today's standards.
But absolutely, it is and should be a personal choice. We must all do what's right for us and our families.
