Code of Misconduct

Hey, Thanks :love I hope you read the version that was edited 3 times by Brighton and about 20 times by me. :laugh

The eBook edition has slowed down some, but I'm working on keeping the word out. It's been REAL busy here at work and I've been about "shot out" by the time I get home. This weekend with a HUGE tree limb falling across my back fense didn't help even a little bit :BH :rant

I've found it more work to promote a book than to even write it...but I'm very happy some have enjoyed it. I have found a few flaws in the eBook that will be corrected for the print eidition. They are not bad, but they bother the heck out of me. I think we are still on track for a mid June release. I hope earlier.

But again....Thanks from the heart of my bottom ;D :laugh :race
Chris please get in touch with Britaini at The Bookworm in Powder Springs. She hosts many authors and is just awesome! I am not sure about how she does it with a new author, but I know she does promote for signings! She is a great supporter of local authors.

I am loving the book. Went to Vic's for a tire fix yesterday and was a bit annoyed because they got it done so fast! It is really, really good, Dude!! I'd buy a hard copy just so I can get the autograph of the guy who wrote the book and I kinda know him, but not IRL, he lives down the road from me, I think, and I hope it turns into a MOVIE!!!

Thank you SO much...You all are wonderful friends and I'm very happy that you are enjoying the story. It was a lot of hard work, but the kind of work that I love. I never set out to write a book, but sometimes God opens doors you never knew were there to begin with. I appreciate everyone's comments and support more than you know! :love

My publisher says...

Going to be interesting to condense 101K to 4K. If you have any questions, call me...

He wasn't kidding!!! :BH I just sent Brighton my second attempt at writing a Reader's Digest version of Code of Misconduct for FLBlueNow Magazine. It makes me think of a riddle...

Q: What's more difficult than writing a 100,000 word novel?
A: Writing a 4,000 word short story about the 100,000 word novel! :'(

If y'all would, do me a favor when you have time and re-share information about the book on your Face Place. I think things will pick up again when the print edition comes out, but I still need help pushing the eBook edition.

I Thank Thee! 8)

hey dude, tell your publisher to release the e-book version on Kobo's website. That's who my son's e-reader is through and I would so gladly purchase it if they offered it ;D

The response from the publisher...

Chris,

The book is not currently on Kobo, but after our aggregators (our secondary distributors) pick it up it will be, usually around 6 months

:'( Well, the print edition will be out before then. Sorry :'(

well Pooh..so I still have to wait =( so June it is

The best answer I'm getting is 90-120 after ebook release. We are still making very small adjustments to the manuscript. I found a thing or two that needed clarification. It's more work than I expected, but a very good learning experience :faint

Have they told you how many e-book copies have been sold yet?

No, but from the direct response I have received, I estimate a couple of dozen. It's all in the marketing and I stay as busy as time will allow with it. Most of the people who ask me about it don't care to read anything on the Kindle or other types of e-readers. And most don't even have one. I feel like it will do better when it's in print.

I try not to get discouraged and I'm SO thankful to those of you who were kind enough to support me and the book. It's all about getting it in front of people and that's not easy. I went through it during my time with the quartet.

The publisher has been supportive. He told me last week to expect a two hour teleconference about two weeks prior to the print release and we would be going over promotion and marketing procedures. I'm going keep to pressing toward the mark! 8)

Someone asked me the other day how many copies had sold. I told them I wasn't sure, but was confident that I had sold tens and tens of books! :laugh

I'm sure your publisher has their pricing strategies, but if you drop your price on amazon, even for a bit, you'll get a lot of hits. I see books all the time in the free section for a day or so, and then they appear in the pay section again. Might be worth a try if they'd go for it. Some folks download everything that's free. Failing that, perhaps a day's drop in price to $1.99 or something. Just some idears...

I'm sure those are good ideas, but totally out of my control. I imagine some of that my be part of the marketing strategy they may use in the near future, but I really don't know at this point. I remember offering specials for the Pioneer's CDs when we had three for sale, plus a DVD. Those moved pretty good.

But I have to be honest...so much MORE work and time is expended writing, I actually this $5.99 is a bargain for 18 months of writing and another 6 publishing. People pay nearly that much for one of those fancy-dan cups of coffee. I'd be all for a short "give-away" for a couple of days, but that would be all I would be willing to do.

ok so I was able to download Kindle on my ereader therefore was able to download the book. I am LOVING IT! I also go to Daytona every year so I love how I can relate to all the locations so far in the book. I started reading it on Monday and am now on chapter 12. Its really good so far GC! well done dude! Will let ya know when I finish it ;D

I am halfway through it. I love it, too!! I read every night, and I actually dreamt it was in the book the other night. :laugh
I have noticed that e-reader editions of books vary slightly from print versions. Not yours yet, as there isn't a print version, LOL. But don't be discouraged over that.

Also, IMO, $5.99 is a bargain. Kindle books are no longer as cheap as they once were. When I am finished reading I will give my full review. Haha, and I will write one on Amazon as well.

I just finished it! GC, I loved it!! Very impressed!! I really can't wait for the next one. I picture Cash as Scarface (Al Pacino as Scarface in the movie). I felt so bad for Tina. :(

Good job!!!
