I only have the time once, maybe twice per week. If I can keep pace, maybe another 8 to 10 months to go not counting the months and months it will take to edit. I know I'll be re-organizing events....adding some background....removing some material... I don't know how real authors do it, I really don't.

I think I've hit more of a normal pace. Well, normal for someone who can only dedicate one or so evenings per week to the project. The characters are all set and I don't believe adding any more would be a good idea. I've gone back on 3 of them and added background info for people to understand their motives and psychology.

It's hard to know how much is too much and how much is not enough, but I know it needs to be there. The information is adding up real fast. It's getting to the point I have to go back to remind myself of little specifics that need expanding on or refer to accurately, such as location names or what someone was wearing in a photo.

Only thing I can say is, if I get hit by a truck or am shot before I can finish this thing, I'm gonna be REAL MAD! :rant

Yesterday I had some fun with it. Although I've been to Daytona nearly 28 years straight, my mind can forget details...

I pulled up Google street view (Just a Cool Tool) and used it to get some accurate detail of a scene from the book. Colson had to take pics of a target he was hired to do surveillance on. It was SO much easier to describe his turns and the surroundings using that as a guide.

Of course you can make it up, but this was MUCH better and actually a little fun. 8)

I agree... it may sound corny, but I love when I am reading a book and the setting is someplace I am familiar with and it is true to life. :slappy
