Windows 10

The only machines I would maybe not upgrade are older, slower machines. One of my computers that was originally an XP machine is struggling with 10 just a little. Not bad, it is a dual core, but I can tell it isn't handling 10 as well as it did 7.

I mainly did all my machines just so they would all be the same OS. Windows 7 is hard to beat.

I love Windows 7. I was so on the fence with having them put that on the new laptop.

It was the best yet, at least until now. But I'm really impressed with 10 so far.

Well, I listened to you....people....and I don't like it.
It looks different.
Now I'm all confused.

Change is never good.

If change and learning new technologies wasn't good then you wouldn't be able to tweet with Kate.

Don't try and justify this very upsetting and nerve racking change.

Again, you can change the start menu using
http://www.classicshell.net/

It's pretty neat on 10 since it allows one click switching back to the new 10 start menu or a previous type (which includes older shutdown/logoff options).. I'm using it because it's what I'm used to, plus I can add back in the Win7 start menu icon, I don't love the tablet type white icons.

I voiced my only huge complaint about their update settings and defaulting to allow uploading their updates to the world. Those with low bandwidth limitations might be impacted by this.

I'm also going to mess with an early 2000's Pentium4 based dell with only 2GB DDR ram. Going to install win7 on it then 10 to see how it goes, just for science.

This is turning into a nightmare.
There is a thing on my screen that says, "Activate Windows", "Go to Settings to Activate Windows".

I go to settings and it says, down at the bottom, "Windows isn't Activated. Activate Windows Now."
I click on this and it takes me to settings, Activation, which says my "product key" doesn't work, enter a product key that came with Windows 10 or go to the store.
If you go to the store, they want $199 for Windows 10.

What is going on?
What have you people done to me now?

Is there an option to do it later? If so, click that and check it in a day or so to see if it shows as activated.

I have had a couple friends with Windows 7 that have run into product key issues. One just told me last night that when it sent it to her the issue was not there as it was when she tried to download it from the microsoft website. (and she is loving Windows 10)
