I don't really get overly riled up about politics, because there's little if anything that I can do a single person to change the course. I will say that I'm a fiscal conservative, but I buy my own lube because I know there's nothing I can do to prevent it.
That said, I've been watching first hand how socialized medicine has been killing my sister in law in the UK and I've dealt with them directly trying to get her treatment stateside. The only positive that could come from this is that perhaps we can move away from the prozac nation that we are today...we do over prescribe A LOT for conditions that could (and should) be controlled with diet.
So, that's it. That's my dog in the fight. I sure would like us to move away from "there's a pill for that" mentality. Maybe if there's no money and healthcare become a commodity equally available (or unavailable) to all - there simply won't be capacity to continue to pharmaceutically fix everyone's bad decisions.
