Will there be riots and looting in the streets today?

How is the less educated going to react to the news today if it isn't in their favor? Are they going to riot and crash the glass of businesses if EH is held in criminal contempt of Congress and if the HC bill is struck down? Careful out there this afternoon.

I have no idea. The justices will take their seats at the bench at 10:00. Expect the decision to be announced sometime after that. Most likely, it will be the last decision announced today.

I'm lost...what is today other than Trash day at my house?

The SCOTUS is expected to give us their decision on Obamacare.

I don't really get overly riled up about politics, because there's little if anything that I can do a single person to change the course. I will say that I'm a fiscal conservative, but I buy my own lube because I know there's nothing I can do to prevent it.

That said, I've been watching first hand how socialized medicine has been killing my sister in law in the UK and I've dealt with them directly trying to get her treatment stateside. The only positive that could come from this is that perhaps we can move away from the prozac nation that we are today...we do over prescribe A LOT for conditions that could (and should) be controlled with diet.

So, that's it. That's my dog in the fight. I sure would like us to move away from "there's a pill for that" mentality. Maybe if there's no money and healthcare become a commodity equally available (or unavailable) to all - there simply won't be capacity to continue to pharmaceutically fix everyone's bad decisions.

I think this is going to rally the conservative base.

I agree! And a lot of moderates too.

As I mentioned in the other thread...this just upped the ante that we need to put all three houses under control of the GOP so they can repeal this disaster. And then hope that the GOP will act like conservatives.

Unfortunately, I just don't see that ever happening. Our government goes to the highest bidder and the pharm. and food industries spend obscene amounts every year on politics.

Conservatives don't riot.

Right now I am still in shock. I couldn't riot even if I wanted to.

I'm angry!
I'm stunned. Absolutely stunned.

I am, too. When things go wrong, we always seem to think that the foundations of our country - our Constitution and our system of checks-and-balances will win out. Not today.

I agree with you. Conventional medicine as currently practiced is neither healthy nor cost-effective.
