I know her through a couple of friends, and she is a super sweet girl. She recently started her own business doing hand lettering and calligraphy and has been doing rather well. I love this stamp!!!

That is WAY cute!!! And I have to make a HoDe run again tomorrow to exchange the sander I bought (some dork put it back in the box with paint and dust all over it where somebody had returned it), so I'll look for the floor stuff.

I want a portable scanner to scan old pictures.

That's what I want!!! Actually, it may take two - I want one of the high-speed ones for all paperwork, and then whatever works for photographs. Not sure if the high-speed ones are good for photographs. But yeah, I'd love that.
My gf has the Neat desktop scanner. She does not like it for pictures. She said the software that you have to use that organizes your receipts is a bit of a pain and does not always work. She has only had it a few months and I am waiting on her final review. I will look at birthday month for it if she winds up liking it. I really want her to like it! :))

The neat scanner is a pain in the rear... I had to deal with I my last job and it caused more trouble than its worth

:( Darn.

it is just a lot of extra work.. sometimes it will make it what ever you scan a different document, wrong price, categorize it wrong... You really just cant scan and trust it. Sure you have a pic of what you scan which is always right but it interrupts it different more often than not

I want a newer Jeep. Mine's a 1996 and I want at least a 2000 or 2001. (See, I'm not even asking for a new-new one). I know I can't get the Jeep, so whatever I get will be fine.
Yeah, a newer Blazer would be nice.
do they still make those?

I actually thought you all were talking about the shark streram mop for wood. That thing will destroy wood.

http://www.sharkclean.com/Shark-Steam-Products/

My SIL has one, and I wondered about that when I saw her using it. Our rental has hardwoods in two rooms - what do you recommend? I figgered a damp mop (the squeegie kind) with warm water only or water and vinegar completely wrung out.
Mei lan, I started using a new product called Rejuvinate. It's sold at Home Depot, comes in a spray bottle and you use it with a cover that slips over your regular mop. I love it.

What I was using before left a terrible, waxy looking build up on the floor. It would smudge and always looked dirty. Actually, BS came and fixed my floor (twice!) because we are idiots when it comes to that and I was rather embarrassed to have a flooring professional see it at that time.

It looks MUCH, MUCH better!

I have only used Bruce Hardwood Floor Cleaner on our hardwoods - I spray it on and use the dust mop to clean. We also get it at Home Depot.

I've never tried anything else so I'm interested to see what BS recommends.

Ok.......drum roll please.............................

My only recommendations for hardwood floors are as follows:

1. Never use water and vinegar on your floors. The new finishes do not need this "outdated" way of cleaning. There was a time for this but not any longer.
2. Rejuvenate, I'm not a fan (sorry Mrs B). There are specific conditions that a product like this may give a temporary fix but it is something that you'll have to continue to apply because it simply wears off. Any topical product will void all product warranties from the manufacturer. Be careful.
3. Bona and a couple other products with similar ingredients, are specially formulated for prefinished and polyurethane floors. These are also approved by most major manufacturers. Always apply to the cloth applicator and never directly to the floor. A spray applicator is ok to apply as long as it isn't to much but never squirt a cleaner to the floor.
4. Always sweep or vacuum your hardwoods every other day to remove the dirt and grit. That is the most dangerous enemy to your floor's surface.

I've never used the refinished stuff - just the Rejuvinate cleaner stuff.

I have wondered about the Bona, and I think ill try that next time. I'm not worried about the warranty at the point - the previous homeowner installed this floor himself and BabyB has put so many dings and dents in it we are going to have to replace it in a few years.

Water and vinegar? We were told to never use water so I can see how this is a bad idea.

We use the Bruce Hardwood Floor cleaner because that is what the floor manufacturer (Bruce, of course) recommends. I've never heard of or tried Bona, but I'm glad to have a backup if I ever can't find Bruce.

Thanks, BS! I appreciate the info.
Yes, great info.
BTW, girl your avatar is kinda weird. What is it?

It IS kinda weird. It's a tarsier (TARsiAY)...some weird animal GC posted about in another thread. He said it should be my mascot, so I changed it to that for a day or so. Panda'll be back shortly.

I really do need to stop looking at them until the farm is ready. I keep getting sucked in further and further. They are just so stinkin' cute.

They are semi-cute (although I agree with MrsB on the creepy square-pupil thing), but I like sheep better. Goats'll flat clean up a parcel of land fer ye, though.
