US government monitoring suspected Chinese spy balloon over northern states
The United States is monitoring a surveillance ballon that is suspected to belong to the People's Republic of China and is flying over the continental United States.
Just curious, do we have similar instruments over other country's airspace? Why would a balloon be different than a satellite? Serious questions.Jurisdictional airspace is 60,000 ft. That balloon looks like it is well below that level. Therefore it is violating our airspace.
Altitude I think. If you are above the accepted limits to be in "space", then you should be ok. Below that, you are in that country's airspace.Just curious, do we have similar instruments over other country's airspace? Why would a balloon be different than a satellite? Serious questions.
Ain't no such thing as "civilian research" in China.![]()
