The Trumpets signaling the coming of our Lord?

(sorry, but that is how I feel)
Unfortunately stradial, there are some who divide themselves over this. I'll never understand these non essentials of Christianity that bring such a rift between believers.

Personally, I believe we will go before, but as I heard a preacher say one time.......I'm pre-trib right now and if I'm wrong, then I'll be mid-trib, and if I'm wrong again, then I'll suddenly become a post-tribber.

I tend to think the rapture won't happen (I'm Presbyterian at heart). But as you said, even great theologians don't agree on this, so I ain't about to think I know for sure.

I had no clue what you guys were talking about so I googled and this popped up:" Are you Pre, Mid, or Post? If you don’t know how to answer that question, you’re probably a Catholic. Most Fundamentalists and Evangelicals know that these words are shorthand for pre-tribulation, mid-tribulation, and post-tribulation. The terms all refer to when the rapture is supposed to occur. " :laugh :laugh :laugh
why are you laughing?

Why not?
Just trying to clarify whether she was laughing at the concept of the rapture or the statement itself about being Catholic.

I am pretty sure you can figure out I was laughing that I did not know, and the first thing that popped up was "you must be Catholic". If you did not know that, see Sadie. You still have not found your funny bone.
I just took a page out of your playbook. :taunt As for my funny bone, you wouldn't know one if it smacked you up side your head, bashed your skull in, and piled drived your carcass into a mud hole. :Stick :laugh :B_S :neenerbutt :jk :seesaw :love

Oh, honey, I have. Peeps be gettin' all in a wad over this stuff. If you even HINT at not believing in the rapture in certain circles, you are put on the church prayer list and looked at in a very suspicious manner.

My pastor is a big pre-tribber, as is one of our Bible Study teachers. Truth be told, most of the folks in our church likely agree with the pastor. But, he knows that I have my doubts and I have had a lot of discussion with folks in our church about it and about how I grew up learning something different. And, it has come up in discussions with some of my other friends. But, it has never caused a rift or anything even close to getting panties twisted up. As for being on the church prayer list, well, I've been there a time or two, but never for that (like the time I explained to the pastor that I am considered a "liberal lesbian" in some circles)...

I never heard these terms before.
I know that even back in the 70's there were differing thoughts on what exactly would happen, but the basic belief was that when it was time, those who were still alive and were saved would go to heaven.
I found this chart on that tribulation stuff.
The fact that there are charts on what will happen when Christ comes is mind boggling to me.
I thought this was about faith, not charts and diagrams.

So, if you consider yourself Catholic (and there is nothing wrong with that) then by your words, you only think they have it "the most" right? I don't understand your comment. If you believe something then you have to think other possibilities are wrong, right? In the least, you have to at least think other religions/denominations are "less" right. If it isn't that, then how can you say you are Catholic or anything at all? I'm not meaning this in a religious aspect, but as a thought in general. To clarify, if one believes 2 + 2 is 4 then they have to believe all other possibilities are wrong. It is the core of the word "believe".

I can see you have not found it.
I don't play your games, nor take pokes at other religions, just so you know. I do not think my or Catholic interpretation is right and everyone else is wrong.

I'm guessing that she means that it is highly likely that no one denomination has it all right.
So, is she paying you to be her spokesman or is it just a community service you provide? The last thing I'll ever claim to have is the ability to understand what a woman is trying to say. (outside of my wife that is)

Since you're involved, it's a freebie that I wouldn't pass up for anything...
I'm honored............. :thumbsup :laugh

Personally, I believe we will go before, but as I heard a preacher say one time.......I'm pre-trib right now and if I'm wrong, then I'll be mid-trib, and if I'm wrong again, then I'll suddenly become a post-tribber.

You are so smart!
See here >>>>>> "In the least, you have to at least think other religions/denominations are "less" right." My parameters included EXACTLY what your spokeman said.

But I said it in a less condescending and snarky way...

Again, another freebie... :taunt

Oh, sorry, I didn't check with the "moral authority" first on my presentation. I'll try harder next time. And how is it that you're soooo good at identifying condescending and snarky comments? hmmmmmmm? :seesaw :taunt

Moral authority came as an option with the moral compass that I've been accused of spinning a time or two...
