Super Bowl 50...

...lived up to the hype, at least in my opinion. I'm not a big NFL fan but I do watch the play-offs and the Super Bowl. I was pulling for Manning to go out with one last win to mark the end of his career (should he decide to retire). I'll also give it to "Lady Gaga" and her rendition of the National Anthem, she did a good job and at least didn't screw it up (although I was waiting for her to do something stupid to get the media talking about her again). I purposely missed the half-time show, I had heard enough about it not to want to endure it so we made sure we were at Starbucks during the show. Lastly, I was disappointed in Cam and his attitude after the game. His immaturity clearly showed during his Q & A session with the media. I know it's disappointing to lose, especially at that level, but if you're going to be the team leader and spokesman at least handle adversity after losses as well as you handle praise after wins. I like Cam and think he has a bright future, he will play in future Super Bowl games but I'm happy for Peyton. By the way, he only won because of his defense, but he already knows it.

Scam showed his true colors!

Yeah, I skipped the half-time show also as it was reported she would be doing her song to honor the "Black Lives Matters" movement.

Newton revealed his true self. He's a Street Thug of the typical order. We watched half time and liked it for the most part. I didn't associate Beyonce's group formation during the dance as significant until this morning when I heard on the news that the "X" formation was intended to honor Malcomb X and the Black Lives Matter movement. This CRAP is getting SO OLD and is directly effecting young blacks.

No more than I get in this morning that I have to respond to a request to sit in while a school administrator was attempting to assign in school suspension to a black 13 year old girl. She is constantly in trouble and has stolen 2 cell phone that I can account for and countless others that I can't. She was threatening to "beat up" another student and even admitted she would out of school. But to my point, she had to include in her statement that she was being disciplined because she is black. It wasn't even worth a response from me. I just stood off to the side to make sure she got to where she had been assigned and step in if she tried to strike the administrator.

Obama and his ilk and supporters like Beyonce and a hoard of others have placed a crowbar between the races and their constant prying is driving people further and further apart. I was surprised anything was even said about what she was promoting, but I know one thing for certain as sure as the sun rises in the east. If they asked a bunch of Country Singers to perform and they started marching around in the formation of the Stars and Bars, there would be riots in the streets.....which is what they want anyway.

I read a lot about Lady Gaga's rendition of the National Anthem, so I pulled it up on youtube. I have to say, she did a great job!

We didn't watch the game last night. But, I'm going to defend Cam Newton - he's young and he just lost the biggest game of his career so far. He was disappointed. He will mature and he will be in another Super Bowl.

I agree he is young and hopefully someone will sit him down and help him mature.
I didn't watch the post game stuff, because that's not what I cared about. I also agree with others that they should leave the post game interviews for the winners, and let the losers have time to recoup. Those of us with kids in any kind of competition type thing knows you don't try to talk to your kid right after the loss, you wait a little bit then you talk with them.

I finally heard Lady Gaga's performance and I too loved it. She really can sing, especially when you can focus on her singing and not all the other stuff.

I agree and I believe at some point many have said things they should not after games or not shook hands with the other team....

Selling hot dogs and beer in the upper level food court. :dancechicken:

Cam showed his frustration the first time his ass hit the turf. 7 sacks and a handful of turnovers combined with something like 140 yards of penalties and it's pretty easy to see the problem. Newton is young, but he is talented. They just need to tweak their approach to man coverage and work on their mental game. They will get another shot.

This is what I posted on my FB, just my take on the whole thing.

OK, I watched the Superbowl just like a billzion other people. This is my take on it.
It was a good game (even though neither one of my favorite teams were playing.)
I had to you tube Gaga's National Anthem. I found it to be just OK. I personally didn't feel anything when she sung it.
In the first half of the game I didn't think either team was playing to their best. The lack of experience was showing especially on the Panthers side. I told my daughter that the Broncos needed to settle down or they could lose.
The half time show was confusing, and not entertaining at all. My son did say, "oh Beyonce is on." I asked him if she was half naked, he said she was. No one really watched the thing. We did catch the very last 30 seconds of the thing, all I could think was give it a rest already. I'm tired of everything becoming a political platform. People are watching the GAME something that really has NOTHING to do with politics.
The second half the Broncos finally settled down and did their jobs. The Panthers really did try, but you could see the inexperience.
As far as the post game stuff, please did they expect Cam to be all hyped up and ready to talk? Maybe his keeping his answers to one word was a good thing for him. Maybe his walking away was better then him saying something he may regret later. Personally I think they should leave the losing team alone, let them go and get their heads together, and then talk with them.
That's my take on the whole thing.

I didn't watch the game. I did watch the video of Gaga singing the National Anthem and thought it was good, but not great. She does have a good voice. She looked a lot better not wearing all the weird stuff she's known to.
