Student Schools Teacher...

Wow...that was awesome. Rude, total lack of respect.....but awesome.

There is a time and place for things, that was not the time or place. I get what he is saying, but if he truly cared and wanted to have made a difference he would have done it another way. JMO

I completely understand his frustration. I would be willing to bet he becomes a teacher, an awesome one at that.

Could he have handled it differently?? Probably but if you're there to learn and the teacher is not teaching, it is frustrating.

I guarantee the teacher won't forget this. And I hope she takes it to heart.

Small price to pay for taking a stand.

Probably not the best way to handle it; but gotta give the kid credit for caring about his future and his country.

I do not see it like that at all. There were other ways to handle it. A suspension would have cost my son more than a day out of school. Privately speaking to the teacher, principal, and or school board would have a greater impact on actually getting something accomplished. This just ticked the teacher off. Yes there is a video, but most times there would not be. Do you think that the teacher will not speak to other teachers about the troublemaker? The boy that mouthed off in her class? Do you think that he will be believed over her?
Apparently he has speaking skills and cares. If he cared enough he would want it changed. How he handled it will not result in change.

I'm just surprised it wasn't our son in the video. He can't stand boring classes taught by paycheck teachers who care little for their students. He's a smart kid and is keenly aware of his surroundings, I can so see him doing that. Of course his mother would probably beat him but I'd give him a high five and a beer iced tea.

I disagree, this viral rant has caused the school district to take serious notice of this young man.
A private discussion would have resulted in a polite dismissal and suppression of his concerns.

My opinion still stands. This viral video worked..in this circumstance. On any given day, someone might not have their phone out and ready to video. This was a lucky break for him. Dismissal and suppression? Good grief. He is well spoken and I give him and the school more credit.
