Some thoughts on Pinterest food

Okay, so far, most of what I've made from Pinterest has been mediocre. I'm beginning to think that all those folks who rave that their families LOVED the recipe have never cooked for their families before and they are just excited.

Girl, AMEN!!! I've made a few things. Some have bombed, but none have dazzled me.

FYI - there is a crockpot Mac & Cheese on Pinterest that is absolutely nasty!

Going to delete that recipe... :))

I've only tried a couple. They were ok. I'm gonna try the pork chops with ranch, parm & bread crumbs this weekend.

Tonight I made this Crockpot Hawaiian Chicken. Well, minus the crockpot. :)) I made the sauce in one pot, the chicken in another, then combined the two. Okay, so I had the chicken thawed out, needed to cook it and ran out of time this morning as I was headed out to throw it all in the crockpot. Really, my switch up shouldn't have made that much difference. But it did, just bland. Sounds like something kids would love, huh? Yeah, not so much. I got "eh, it's okay" and "Mom usually does much better".

Check out this site. She does a few arts and crafts and cooks and all kinds of stuff from Pinterest so you don't have to. She uses a bit of foul language so be aware!! http://pintester.com/

I know - I fell for it. There is an older woman at our church that makes a fabulous Mac & cheese in the crock pot so I was hoping this would be just as good. Nope!

I may try it again in the crockpot to see if that improves it. And, it really needed some vegetables or something. I wish I had steamed some broccoli and cauliflower to go with it, but everyone was starving, I was in a hurry and didn't think about it until it was done. And maybe it was too much sweet. :dunno

I haven't made anything from there yet, but I am LOVING this pintester chick!!! I am bookmarking that site to peruse later, esp. when I want to laugh. (SD - did you see her cocknails thing? :D )
