Shame on Romney and the GOP

No matter who you support for president, this stuff should disgust you. If you support someone other than Trump, imagine them doing this to Cruz or Rubio or Kasich.

I have never seen a political party go insane and try to take out their front runner like they are doing now. May I ask, exactly WHO is going back on their pledge. The GOP carried on and on about Trump signing a pledge NOT to run a third party ticket and they turn around an default on their own pledge. Who saw it coming? Trump did, that's why he said he would sign the pledge and honor it IF he were treated fairly. That's reasonable isn't it?

I honestly don't care if Trump gets the nomination or Cruz or Rubio. I'm voting Republican regardless. However, I am very disappointed by the actions of the GOP. And here comes Romney with a speech scheduled today. It's purpose is to slam Trump. Where they heck is he coming from and how dare he slam a man that supported him and endorsed him in 2012. Listen in Romney's own words.

This election should be decided by the VOTERS, not the GOP Establishment or the Press. For good or bad, it's NOT their decision. And people wonder by Trump wants to open up a can of whoop ass on people who jab at him. I hope he destroys Romney for this crap! Makes me sick.

I'm not yet convinced that's what Mitt's announcement today is about. I think it would be disastrous for the GOP if they try to strongarm Mitt into the nomination.

But I do agree that they need to let Trump run if he wins the majority of the delegates. Especially if it's by any margin.

Fox news got a copy of the speech this morning. The report is that is exactly what he plans to do. It's amazing how the GOP has lied to voters over these past years and have gotten away with it. I guess when push comes to shove, they are feeling comfortable enough to come out and actually show their true colors.

 He could not win last time! What the crap are they thinking? He is better than Cruz or Rubio? UGH!

If that's what he does, I hope every news organization plays the video above. You're right, he's a looser and I feel confident that's how Trump will address him in tonight's debate. Maybe they promised him the VP slot for doing this. I have no doubt....since the GOP obviously controls the other candidates....that they'll bow down and do as they're told.

And people wonder why voters are sick and tired of it and are voting for a total outsider. o_O

Can someone tell me what the RNC has done to Trump so far that is unfair?

Romney is free to say whatever he wants to say...it's a free country.

Here is an example. I'm not even suggesting that Trump would be the best choice, just that it's not the GOP's place to select or deny the nominee. What if it were one of the others? And it may happen again if Trump goes down and it looks like Cruz will get it. Don't put it past them since the GOP hates Cruz as much as Trump.

Sure, Mitt can say what he wants, but does anyone believe he jumped out of the woodwork to do it? This is an orchestrated effort by the GOP and they won't even deny it.

Watch out for flying kitchen sinks. (we need an emoji for that).

Great speech! I wish he would have elaborated more on things like Trump University though.

So he did not throw his hat in? Does not matter what he says about Trump now in 12 he gushed. Apparently in both small towns, and across the US, if you said it at one time you mean it and you can never ever change your mind.

Holy WOW...my newsfeed on FB just blew up with ANTI Romney messages. On some of the pictures from the news stations I have clicked people are replying with really mean anti establishment comments. Nail in GOP coffin has been repeated numerous times.

Yep, Romney praised Trump in 2012. Trump also praised Romney in 2012 but he has been bashing him on twitter recently and I'm sure he'll do so again today.

The important question is whether or not what Romney said is true or false. I happen to think it was true. Others may think otherwise. That's fine but it's helpful to have as much information as possible about candidates when deciding who to vote for. Many people have never heard of Trump University or Trump Steaks or Trump Mortgage or many other things about Trump so I'm glad the attention is being placed on him.

If you believe that...

thousands of others are pretty ticked off right now and do not see it as informative, whether true or not. They see it as games being played by the GOP.

Problem is the press won't talk about these issues. They are in love with Trump. They didn't listen to Rubio until he started using Trump tactics and then they only focus on that. How else is the public supposed to find out about the real Trump?

I supported Romney/Ryan in 2012. I was actually much more motivated then than I had been for McCain in 2008. ( ) Having said that, I was disappointed in Romney's speech today. I actually agree with him on almost all points, but this is too little, too late.

If this is how "he" feels, where was this speech six months ago? It may have made a difference then, before the primaries, although I doubt it. Again, I think he would have been a good president, but the fact remains....he LOST. His policies, beliefs, desires, etc. did not resonate with enough of the American people.

In addition, what did he offer us today? More divisiveness. He said he would not run. He offered no endorsement for another candidate. He gave us NO viable solutions - he just said we should not vote for the leader.

I do not believe Trump is the answer for America, but I respect our country and it's election process enough to deal with it if he becomes the nominee. And I will not support manipulation by the establishment to find a back door to the White House when everything they've offered us since 2008 has failed.
