Robert F. Kennedy Jr files to run for president

J-Man made the statement Trump had national experience before running for president.
He has negotiated business all over the world. Leaders all over the world knew Donald Trump prior to his becoming president.

He understands what it takes to get things done in a world economy.

As much as people like to hate him. He made things better in the USA for business.

He put our country on a level playing field instead of making citizens pay money to other countries for something those countries should fund themselves.

All my life, it never made sense that our country borrows money to pay for other country's needs, generally the money goes to corrupt oligarchs who never use the money to help their citizens. You know, 10% for the Big Guy. It is the way to launder tax payer money back to our elected officials who hate us.

Why were we the only country who in the UN actually paid our fair share? Why be in the Paris Accords or other worldwide schemes that only took financially from the American people without providing anything of value? Wealth re-distribution if you will. Trump stopped that.

Six times he had businesses of his file for bankruptcy. Four of them within a two-year period.
He had over 500 companies; it's ncommon practice to allow the weaker ones to fail. Sometimes it's intentional for the tax break or because he bought the competition to eliminate them. Standard business stuff for that level.

  • The Trump Taj Mahal in 1991 — Trump financed the completion of the Taj Mahal casino construction with $675 million in junk bonds at 14 percent interest. In 1992, the casino was in debt by $3 billion. Trump ended up owing approximately $900 million in personal liabilities. To keep the casino open, Trump made a deal with lenders by giving up half of the entity's ownership and equity. He sold his airplane and his 220-foot yacht and agreed to a bank-set limit on his spending if he would lower the interest rate and have more time to make his loan payments.
  • Trump Castle Hotel & Casino in 1992 and Trump Plaza Casino 1992 — In less than a year, Trump filed for Chapter 11 protection for two more Atlantic City hotel-casinos. Trump was unable to make the principle and interest payments on bonds. At this point, the Taj Mahal was competing with the hotel-casinos Trump Plaza ($550 million in debt) and Trump’s Castle ($338 million in debt). Trump forfeited a 50 percent share in exchange for better terms on the money he owed.
  • Trump Plaza Hotel 1992 — This was the year that Trump filed for bankruptcy protection over the Trump Plaza Hotel. Trump gave up his 49 percent stake in the property to secure better terms from lenders on the hotel’s debt of over $550 million.
  • Trump Hotels and Casinos Resorts in 2004 — At this time, Trump had already consolidated his three casinos, and some other properties, under one company. In 2004, He sought Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection for the entity and filed in the area of $1.8 billion of debt. Once more, Trump’s ownership was lessened from 47 percent to 27 percent so that he could get more favorable terms from lenders.
  • Trump Entertainment Resorts in 2009 — Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts were renamed Trump Entertainment Resorts (TER) after the 2004 bankruptcy. In 2009, TER filed for Chapter 11 with a debt of $1.2 billion. Trump reduced his ownership to 10 percent and resigned as chairman of the board.

I don't think Trump was feared by anyone before POTUS except subcontractors and they were afraid of him not paying them. Everyone in power probably knew they could get in his good graces by kissing his ass or giving him a few bucks.
Funny, I only added the “fear” comment (and put it in parentheses) to offset the “respected” comment so not to draw the expected backlash from the anti-Trumpers here. It seemed to draw more response….my bad.

You're kidding me. That's how you debate? Make a statement and fail to offer anything to prove it's true? No world leader feared Donald Trump before he became president.
Why would I even try to debate with you when you’ve previously proven it’s senseless, especially on anything DJT related. You do you and I will do likewise, if DS never declares his intent to run in 2024 you can always write him in.

You can always scroll by anything I post that you don’t like. But fair warning, I’m a lot like Trump in that I will not hesitate to go the offense if pushed. You won’t like it.

Well, he's still far richer than any of us.

Well, maybe not richer than Mudflap.

I'd prefer to see MTG on his ticket before Lake for the same reason I'm hesitant with DS, Lake has no experience on the national level. I know it doesn't matters to some people but it does to me.
Watch MTG call out Swalwell....

She at least plays offence instead of what most spineless Republicans who just pretend to play defense, and do a poor job of that.

I don't want to see her as VP though.

In the end the Republicans usually roll over and say... "Is this the hill we want to die on?" ... And now we have public school teachers grooming our boys to become eunuchs by cutting off their penis, and convincing our girls to remove their breasts and uterus.

We need some strong men. Swalwell is not that man.

“Weak men create hard times. Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men.”

The passion and ire in this thread shows just how divisive individuals like DJT and MTG are. You can also add the current POTUS and VP to that list as well as many others. It makes me sad that the only choices we seem to have to run the greatest nation the world has ever seen are a bunch of drama queen wacko celebrity wannabes. Where are the Washington's, Lincoln's, Reagan's and yes even though a leftist FDR. These men faults and all were leaders not celebrity BS artists. God Bless America again.

I enjoyed that so much I had to watch it twice. I'm not saying her words were accurate because, frankly, I don't know and honestly don't care to know. One thing is clear though, if her words were against committee rules then they would have been struck from the record. The days of "gentlemen" politics are long gone. I wish it weren't so as I consider myself to be a hardcore conservative but I'm tired of seeing our country being slowly destroyed by career politicians who only follow the script of the almighty party which consistently disappoints.

Agreed.

At the risk of repeating myself from prior threads....I think we have someone (DeSantis) that is capable of getting back to leading by principle instead of leading by polls. His successes in Florida have proven he knows how to get things done and doesn't care as much about polls or having people kiss his ass.

Taliban Joe strikes me as a Soundbar / VoiceBoost kinda creep.
