My bad, I missed it altogether until I went back and read the replies again. Of course not, I'm terrible with that stuff. I finally stopped attempting to make homemade biscuits and now resort to frozen ones. Seriously, I once stayed up all night determined to make just one batch of good biscuits and never was successful. I got my pie recipe from my dad (who got it from his mom), he didn't specify to get the "deep" crusts so I had lots of extra pie mix.
 
I'm chicken on pie crust. I keep saying that I'm going to spend a day trying. LOL
 
Believe it or not, I have actually made good homemade buttermilk biscuits before. All you need is flour, buttermilk, and Crisco shortening. The secret is in the blend of the Crisco and the flour - it has to be just the right crumble to make the biscuits light and fluffy.
 
My father makes great pies and he makes his own crust. My grandmother taught him how. He's actually a better cook than my momma.
