Pediatric Emergency?

I wasn't going to post anything until you saw the doctor, but my E used to do the same thing with ANY bug bite. Ants were horrible, but mosquitoes were terrible, too. He got a mosquito bite just over his eyebrow once that made the whole side of his face swell and gave him a black eye. Another time, he was bitten by a mosquito on his ear. It swelled so much that his ear flopped over like a little puppy. :(

Anytime he got an ant bite, it looked exactly like the picture and ALWAYS oozed like that. The good news....he DID grow out of it. He rarely has a really bad reaction anymore. There was one time about a year and a half ago when he was bitten multiple times by mosquitoes while at school, and he had a VERY bad reaction. Both of his legs were swollen and he began to feel really badly. That one earned him a trip to the doctor, but most of the time, his bites are drama free nowadays.

So glad Baby B is better! (And your Mommy heart can ease!)

Thanks y'all. I feel silly for being so worked up. My mom was right about it. But I've never seen bug bites do this on anyone! I was scared. MrB wasn't scared or worried too much until this morning. It looked awful. I hope his doctor's office doesn't think I'm nuts. Lol

But, I've only called after hours once before, and it turned out he had hand foot and mouth.

Girly, my sons ped knew our number by heart. (and Clarks EMT's all knew our address, and poison control recognized our number... shall I continue? :laugh ) My child was unique and still at 18, we get the phone call he fell off stage we need to take him to the hospital and not a month later the staph infection. I surely do not think you are nuts!!

Def. not nuts!!! Better safe than sorry!!! Although this does remind me of my friend Pam, who has five kids. Her first, she was like this. By the time #5 came along, she's like meh, call me if your leg falls off. :D :D :D

I'm so glad he's OK, you're not nuts. I'd be questioning it if you were worried and didn't take him in. Momma's know. :love

I'm on a first name basis with the princess's pediatrician. We're all crazy when it comes to our kids and doctors generally understand that.

So very happy he is feeling better! I despise it when our babies hurt!! :love
