Paranormal in Paulding

hey guys, sorry I got some message when posting a reply the other day that said I didn't have permission so I'm giving it another shot. I just wanted to take a moment and actually thank you guys for this thread. We've gotten some hits to our stuff to it and you guys all brought up some great points. And it even helped bridge a gap between myself and rolltide.

And Madea, thank you for your last response. That is def. the way my responses were meant to be taken. I had worried that I may have been harsh but the general consensus seems to be that everyone understands I just wanted to clear some things up.

I look forward to engaging in conversations with you guys later on down the line. Our next movie is due out October 26th and will be screened at the Dallas Theater here on main street. I really hope you guys will come and check it out.

I do not believe in the conventional term ghost as it refers to someone's spirit still residing on earth. The Bible is clear on that. What I believe them to be are demons posing as loved ones or characters in the past. They will do anything to distort God's word. As far as that John Edwards crossing over crap, well demon possession can also lend information to what you want to hear. So, can there be paranormal experiences out there? Yep but understanding them starts with knowing exactly what they are.

Well stated. :CLAP

? GD or BS neither of you believe in spirits? I am not speaking of having anything to do with the occult, but ghosts (spirits). I remember spirits in the bible.... (I believe rolltide mentioned they were there too)
The bible uses the word "spirit" in several ways. The obvious one is the Holy Spirit. I think we all can agree when it's being used. We all have a spirit. After death, the bible states we are immediately in heaven or hell. The other term spirit is used when describing evil beings or demons. There are many examples in the old and new testament. Now the term ghost, depending on translations, is used sparingly. I Samuel has a reference to a ghost posing as Samuel himself to king Saul. Many scholars rebuke it being Samuel since it "came up" our of the ground. Some feel the apparition was God himself but unlikely because the prophecy of the "spirit" wasn't completely true therefore by default, wasn't of God. Another popular ghost reference was to Jesus while walking on water. The disciples thought Jesus was a ghost walking on water. He rebuked them saying "a ghost doesn't have bones and flesh, but I do". Now he wasn't given credence to ghosts by comparing himself but instead, he was using their perceptions of ghosts to prove them wrong. Luke chapter 16 is just one area that confirms to believers that spirits of dead people do not inhabit the earth and they reside either in heaven or hell. As for "other spirits" or demons mentioned in scripture, they are usually possessing the bodies of people and must obey those speaking the name of God. There are many scriptures confirming the exiting of spirits from people. Mark chapter 5. There are no references in scripture stating that a person's energy is left behind or that we can contact the dead. Since we know our spirits are only in one of two places, anything we "witness" here of the ghostly nature can only be demons, unclean spirits, or fallen angels. All three are pretty much the same things.
