I'm thinking I should have run for coroner. My motto could have been, "I'll only pronounce those dead who need it." :laugh

How do you believe that would improve the set up? (I really don't mean that snarky. I'm really asking.)
Kinda like we have to call in the GSP to investigate traffic accidents? Just why is that, btw? I've never understood that.
I had heard back when Harris was sheriff, he didn't want his deputies writing tickets because it would cost him votes. When you investigate a traffic accident, one driver is going to be at fault, which means a ticket would be issued. I was hoping that once Gullidge became sheriff, the county would start investigating the accidents in this county.
The GSP is busy and sometimes it can take a long time for one of their patrols to arrive at a Paulding County traffic accident. I've always thought it stupid to have a deputy at the traffic site directing traffic while waiting for GSP to show up to take the report, when the deputy should be fully capable to do it himself.

As for the coroner thing, it's an absolutely useless position that should be eliminated. He IS NOT a medical investigator in this county, just a pay check. We need an ME with a forensics background, not a baby kisser. There is my opinion. Heck in much of the mid-west, any Notary Public can perform the exact same duty as the Paulding County Coroner, and they aren't on the taxpayer's dime.

:laugh I've been on vacation all week. I haven't forgotten but I'll be busy tomorrow too. )
I am still wondering about how long Sam has held office. As I said someone told me an outrageous amount of time and I found that had to believe. Though, when I pulled up term limits for coroners I found them for many states, just not ours.Madea said:We spent the week in Mexico Beach. Fun!! Hope you enjoyed! Some of the things I have heard about Sam I have been unable to verify and won't repeat until I can and some are simply other's opinions. Even those with less than favorable comments, still think he's a nice guy and still like him. I agree they do. I have only heard about the not making payroll and that was from someone not paid. I still think he's a nice guy. It's my opinion we may need more than a nice guy. That is what I think also.

Madea, that is what I was told. 1992. Who thinks that is a good idea? I am sorry, no one should hold a public office that long for any reason at all. I do not care how nice he is or how good it is perceived he does. How do we know he does a good job? We don't because we do not know anything else! SMH People become complacent and do things certain ways because "they always have." Why does this position not have a term limit?Madea said:ShoeDiva said:I am still wondering about how long Sam has held office. I'm thinking at least 20 years, but I'll have to check. Jeff was actually coroner prior to Sam.
