Y'all don't laugh at me. LOL I have pretty much elimated HFCS from the house. I just don't want to eat it, or feed it to my son. I did the same with artificial sweeteners years ago. Anyway.... I had put off reading the ingredients of Miracle Whip, because I knew it was going to list it, and I love it so. ::sigh:: I read it yesterday while making the pasta salad and its in there.

Anyone know of an alternative that is similar to MW? I don't do mayo :sick so I don't care if it has HFCS or not. I ain't gonna eat it. LOL

Just say NO to both mayo and MW.

Noooooooo. I can't. I love MW. I love it in pasta salad. I love it on my sandwiches. Granted, I really do not eat it often, but when I eat a sandwich I need something wet on it. if that makes sense... lol

Wet on it? Ewwwwwww :)) Mustard?
I make my pasta salad with balsamic vinegar and oil.

I am not a fan of mustard. LOL I use that, too, for pasta salad sometimes.

I just googled it, and it is advertised as not containing HFCS.... hummmm..... Let me go check again. Maybe I am nuts. Or Kraft is a liar. :))

LOL...Kraft might have changed the formula. I have no clue at all what the difference between the two things are. Someone inform me. I might be able to give an organic suggestion, but right now, white, creamy, smelly stuff is all the same to me. :laugh

Mayo, to me, is greasy. But, I wasn't raised on it, and I know most people love it. MW is sweeter. I reread the ingredients, and it's in there. Kraft is a liar. LOL

I was hoping someone on here might have tried an alternative they were happy with. I don't want to spend a lot of $ on different stuff and not like it.

The next time you're in the grocery store, look at the store brand version of MW to see if it has that ingredient or not.

Miracle Whip goes back to using high-fructose corn syrup
February 01, 2012

<snip>

Miracle Whip made the change in the fall of 2009. Now, high-fructose corn syrup is back in Miracle Whip.

<snip>

The current Miracle Whip ingredient list has both high-fructose corn syrup and sugar, an unfortunately growing trend in food products.

http://balanceoffood.typepad.com/balance_of_food/2012/02/miracle-whip-goes-back-to-using-high-fructose-corn-syrup.html

I am of the opinion that there is almost no nutritional differences among regular sugar and high fructose corn syrup- the body uses all types of sugar in the same way. All food we eat is converted to sugar which turns in to calories to fuel our body. Too many calories, and our bodies convert it into fat...we gian weight.

Table sugar breaks down into a 50:50 mixture of glucose and another simple sugar, called fructose.
High-fructose corn syrup breaks down into a 45:55 mixture of glucose and fructose.

I think you may be stressing about something very small in your whole diet... when you consider the small amount of Miricle Whip you use, the even smaller portion of the MW that is fructose, and the difference that your body converts that fructose to: 45% glucose and 55% fructos. :thumbsup :love

Everything I have read about it is conflicting. I sure it is fine, but I still worry. I can't help but think of the increase in obesity and the time that it was beginning to be widely used. IDK. This may not last long, lol.

Nobody asked you. :p lol I kid.

Mayo is only good if on a fried chicken sandwich. Otherwise, groddy. Haha
Yea......well you know :taunt Team Mayo!!! Did you know you can use mayo in mashed taters? Specially if you have to use the box ones. I also use ranch dressing in mine.

Mayo is the nastiest substance known to man. I refuse to eat it.

I don't like Miracle Whip either, though. Also, I find that HFCS does make a difference. Try this. Today, go drink a 2L of coke, and see what happens - nothing, because it's not food and your stomach doesn't recognize it as such. Tomorrow, go drink 2L of Mexican coke, with the real sugar and five or six ingredients in it. You won't make it past your second or third bottle. It'll fill you up.

HFCS is not food, it's not sugar, it's poison and it makes you fat.

LOL I don't drink much coke, so I could never drink a whole 2liter. Lol However, I do prefer the Mexican coke. It's so much better.

Thanks Mark! That actually looks easy, and I have all of that stuff on hand. Well, except the oil.
