Feeling Frugal....

Have I mentioned I love my crock pot? Lol This time of year (well, fall and winter) I use it often. I'm excited about tonight's dinner.

I just put a whole chicken in there with my rub and it will cook on low all day. Tonight I'll toss in the bones and make broth in it overnight. Tomorrow I'll use some of the broth and leftover chicken to make chicken chili.

If I have any chicken left, I'll use the remaining chicken and broth to make some beans or a casserole.

Three meals, off of a chicken that was $3.60.

Everytime I see, hear or type the word "awesome", I hear my sweet daughter's voice doing that cheer. :cheer1

Apparently a magician is my dog. :laugh

I had the chicken on the cutting board, and a thigh fell off, it was hot, so after cutting off tonight's portion I pushed the cutting board all the way back, so Charlie wouldn't reach it. Came in a few minutes later, and the thigh and drumstick and a wing were gone. And there was my dog, sitting in front of the sink licking his greasy lips.

The pieces he got were not attached to the rest, so at least I have enough for one more meal. Grrr. I have no idea how he reached that.
