Madea said::rant Don't compare my 23 year marriage to Kim Kardashian's 72 hour marriage because you want to claim that Sally Ride's partner didn't get survivor benefits (btw, there were NO federal benefits to claim).

She was a CIVILIAN astronaut, not a military service person, and she was no longer an astronaut at her death to boot. In fact, she resigned in 1987, she didn't "retire". So what are we talking here, her $255 Social Security death benefit?

I don't think THEY know. But, no, she wasn't entitled to any federal benefits (other than possibly the $255).

Sally's partner was at the same or higher salary level, so It's doubtful that she would have chosen Sally's SS over her own even if it was an option. This is just a bunch of activists speaking out of their butt without facts to back them up.gog8tors said:Madea said:lotstodo said:I'm asking this because I don't know, and none of the sites blasting the DOMA over this will say.
