If the church doesn't accept it just pass it to me, I'll keep it safe. I don't discriminate even though I'm a tobacco chewing Bama boy who was raised in south Georgia (ok, stop judging me now).

Wow, and I thought being a liberal lezzie was bad... Dude, you got issues....

I'm thinking a good lawsuit for discrimination, get some free benefits, or at least some policy changes. I got rights. But of course I'll put 10% in the plate.

As long as you tithe on it, it's all good.

But I think I have another s/o.....

Do lawyers tithe? With their own money?

Mine do.

How you know? Do you put them on the stand and make them testify under oath?

She probably has been told and trusts that they are telling the truth. :poke2

I've worked for my most senior attorney for over 20 years - longer than he has been with his current wife. We have no secrets.

I'm sure they do, but they raise they're fees accordingly to offset they're loss.

I am so lost in this thread...lol

I interviewed for a job once that asked to see my tithing record. They were for real! Since I tithe in cash I did not have that

I had another job offer once ( recently) for a big big church and they give you the option to take your tithe out of your pay check and as a worker of the church you had to have records of your tithe. You couldn't do cash... Just check or charge

That's crazy to me ... That should be between you and god . If someone has to make you or demand you to tithe then that isn't what tithing is really about

I just have one question. Do you have a gay fetish?

What if she does? :dunno

Let me explain it like this...

I like gay people. I like straight people. I like people who don't know who or what they are. Heck, I even like the people here and I'm not really sure what some of y'all are! And, I like being able to discuss these topics like adults (well, some of us, anyway). One "friend" here did come out of the closet to me recently - I won't name names since I don't believe anyone else here knows, but I respect the courage it took to do that.

I think that when you are seeking a job at a church, the church likely believes that you are strong enough in your faith that giving is an automatic occurrence so it makes sense to them to just go ahead and take it out of your paycheck.

Our tithe check is the first one that is written when we get paid - it's an act of obedience.

I think we put too much into labels. A person's sexuality has no bearing on how I treat them, whether or not I like them, etc. I really don't like the idea of any of us proclaiming ourselves as homo or hetero, let's just be people without a gay or straight sign on our noggins. And granted, we all kid around a bit about our sexuality, whether it be oogling over the ugly guy pics you and UM post, or we guys being our typical crude selves. But beyond a little fun, our sexuality should really be our private business. If everyone would stop being so pushy about it, I think there would be less tension.

Well, I don't like ALL gay people, or ALL straight people. So there. :p
