Cruz Sex Scandal?

I wonder if we can start a Bernie / Clinton sex scandal rumor? That should be enough to guarantee a GOP victory in Nov.

IDK. I do find it hard to believe he has had 5 affairs, but there are a lot of reporters on Twitter saying that this story has been rumored for a while and no one posted it. I do not know if NE posted because they are Trump supporters or they knew they could get away with it, though again after Gawker there is no way I would go after a top notch lawyer with false allegations if I had no proof. While they are a trash tabloid, they have broke many stories that we all looked at the headline and thought, "no way!"

From a legal standpoint, they didn't say he had affairs, they said there are claims that he had affairs. From a public opinion standpoint, not much of a difference, but a huge difference from a legal standpoint.

I remember a long time ago in a political science class I had where our professor used an example of a mayoral race how spreading a false rumor can end a political career. The city was Miami and the incumbent was very popular and leading by wide margins in the polls. His opponent had staff members ride the elevators of skyscraper office buildings in pairs during the peak hours when people were going to work. The conversations between the two staffers were loud enough for everyone in the elevator to hear. "Did you hear the mayor is being investigated by the police for child molestation? It seems someone dropped pictures off to the police department the other day of the mayor engaged in sexual acts with little boys." "Why hasn't it been on the news?" "Because as you know the mayor and the police chief are good friends and he won't release it to the news media."

Needless to say, the local news media began receiving phone calls from people asking why this isn't being reported in the news? The news media sends reporters and the chief denies any investigation. The media reports the allegations and their interviews with the chief and allude to a cover up. The mayor lost by a landslide on election day.

My gut tells me this is nothing but a conspiracy to hurt Cruz and help Trump. By the time any lawsuit hits the courts, this election will be long over and the real damage done. NE knows this and they are not afraid of losing law suits as they have printed false stories before and have been sued and lost millions in each one. Why people read these rags is really surprising.

Why is this even a story anymore? Yes, it points to a huge deficit in character and integrity, but I distinctly remember democrats saying that character had nothing to do with being the president when Clinton was found out...in the White House...having little Monica.

Because certain people portray themselves one way and come out against others and what they do, and then come to find out they are doing the same or similar. That is why it is a story. Most do not really give a flip about what people are doing in their marriages, but they do care about people who are fake, insincere, and or judgemental. That is why Davis was such a huge story or Duggar. I am not saying Cruz did or did not do anything, but that is why it is a story.

I'm with Madea on this one. Proof or it didn't happen. I still think it's ridiculous, but it is the National Enquirer.
 
Just read an article that exonerated Trump. Pointed the finger at the "story's" source directly at Little Marco.

That is fine. I was just answering why it was a story. Though didn't the National Enquirer break Woods, Edwards, and others? Just saying that it is what I would consider a trashy magazine, and I have never even purchased one, but they are not always off base.
