Candy recipes?

I just put the candy canes in Ziploc and beat the poo out of them.

:spitchick

With my luck whatever I am using to beat them with will go flying across the room and damage something! :))

What kind of candy. If you are looking for something traditional like fudge, google and find the recipe for Hershey's fudge. It takes time, but it is the best.

If you want super easy, do rolo turtles. Lay mini pretzel twists out, stick a rolo candy on top of each one. Put them in a low heat oven (like 225) for a few minutes. Take them out, place a pecan half on each one and press it down.

If you want non-chocolate, I will have to dig out my recipes.

I have to ask..

How in the world do you get them off the cookie sheet? :dunno

I can see myself trying to scoop them off and that crap smearing everywhere.

..and I dont mean crap crap, it just that I know I would get frustrated (after a couple smearing) and throw the whole shootin match in the trash.

I use parchment for things. I plan on using it tonight. I will let you know if it sticks horribly and sending my pans to LisaC. :snick_bunny

Parchment paper is a must!

Use parchment paper. And you don't leave them in the over but just a few minutes - long enough for the rolos to soften, not melt.

I made these for Thanksgiving. They were yummy!

Not sure this will work for what you need but I'll put it out there for anyone that might wanna try it. Easiest fudge in the world to make..takes 5 minutes.

Ingredients: 1 regular jar of peanut butter and 1 container of vanilla cake icing. Soften peanut butter in microwave for a few seconds, empty entire jar into a bowl. Soften cake icing in microwave a few seconds, empty into bowl with peanut butter. Mix together until well blended. Put in pie plate or shallow bowl and cover and put in fridge for a couple hours. Once ready it can be cut into small squares and bam, you have peanut butter fudge.

oh and daughter and I made oreo balls the other night...sounds easy to make but it's really a pain in the butt lol

crush oreos to look like dirt, mix in a block of cream cheese. Roll into small balls and then dip them in chocolate and put in fridge to set. I will say they are good, but messy to make

Diva - what is the deadline on this? I can get my recipe notebook out tonight if you need more.

And YES, I do have a recipe notebook where I actually keep the recipes that I use.... :Ninja

Some of the recipes are from back in the days where I used to cook dinner just about every night (well before the princess and before several deployments).

So ... what did you fix and how did it go over?

I made the dark cherry bark, peppermint bark, and the turtles. Husband said it all disappeared before he even tasted anything, so I take that as it must have been good. :))
I told him next time put the fix in and do not pick out the paper that says candy. I am a baker. (He did say that the guys were asking where my cake was. :)) )

I just follow the instructions on the back of the marshmallow cream jar. The best female fudge EVER! :DN
