Brunch!!

Rolling down the highway
Ham steak, great northern beans, hoe cakes, whole kernel corn, fried okra, sliced tomatoes, raw onion. I need to take a nap. Grew most of the veggies ourselves, even the onion.

I am pretty positive I would not eat them, but I have to ask, what is a hoe cake? :)

It's corn bread made much like pancakes. It's nice instead of turning on the oven and heating up the house. I think some people call them johnny cakes. I have a special cast iron pan I used to make them. It's a Griswold #34, Scandinavian plett pan. Makes awesome silver dollar pancakes, too.

Then I mad a gluten free pasta and spinach dish... I had lost 16 pounds but I gained 2... but I ain't stressing over those 2 pounds. I will catch back up.

Can you adopt me...PLEASE!!!

I will adopt you... I have an empty bedroom that makes me sad

It is all in how you look at it.
The ex has a bedroom that is not empty and that makes me sad.
(in other words, I wish my kid would get his rear in college)

Yep, just drop by spoonfuls like pancakes. Yummy little things. :)

Trying out my stove top smoker, have a couple of chicken breasts in there. Will be adding a salmon steak in a few minutes. All of which have been brining since early this morning.

Well, got to say I'm pretty pleased with the results. The chicken and salmon are incredibly moist. Some good smoked flavor. Well definitely be doing this again!
