They need players who can get on base either by hitting or not swinging at bad pitches. You win the game by crossing home plate from 3b more than your opponent. If you can’t score you can’t win.
Nope, you just have to score one more run than the opponent. Pitching is nice but there’s not many impressive active ones out there on the market. It’s truly amazing how bad many MLB pitchers are today and how many struggle to hit the corners of the plate. Fielding is nice and makes for some great highlights but the game is won by scoring runs. IMO the team philosophy should revolve around it. I’m not saying HR, just get on base with less than two outs and then move the runner over. Hit opposite field for gosh sakes.Yes, one must score runs to win a game...
