he's been gay and grey for the last seven years.

I guess I never gave it a thought since I never watch the cable network he is on. Of course I've run across the show before and saw a few minutes before realizing my hideous error and switching over to Fox News 8)

I really don't care whether he's gay or straight, it makes no difference in what I think of a person.

What I don't get is why so many professional people think they need to tell everyone about their sexuality, regardless of which side of the plate they bat from. The gays seem to be worse about this though.

Think about it...the equivalent of this would be Wolf Blitzer giving an interview and saying "Hey everyone, I'm straight". Ummm, OK. Whatever.

Just do your job people, I don't care who you bump uglies with.

People come out and make announcements because people talk about it so much. For years speculation has gone on regarding him, so that is why he made the announcement. Same as anyone else that has to make the statement. They should not have to, but because of the innuendo, stories, speculation, rumors, and people saying to tell them, they do.
If there was all of that about Wolf he would come out and say he was straight. Just how it is.

On a side note: Why do you refer to gay people as "the gays"?

As I said before it just sounds odd. I do not speak of a group of straight people as the straights, or a group of white people as the whites. :dunno I know GD was not saying it disrespectfully, I just thought it odd.

I really like Anderson, and I care not that he's gay. I think he'd be a good fit with Kelly Ripa on that show. As a comparison, I like him MUCH better than Shepard Smith (who I figure is gay, but haven't heard and don't care one way or the other).
