Amazon Logistics

Here is a trick...

Reduce ones expectations to the level of the working class...
ALL they need and want... is available at Walmart.

In the process... Bezos and Amazon will go broke... and some of the less desirable things under the Amazon umbrella may go away:
*The awful TV and movies Amazon makes...
*The customer service problems dealing only online with retail issues...
*The WAPO (Washington Post) will have to EARN a living...
Those three... would be a public service if they happened!

Yeah... The Jack Ryan series was fun...

OTOH...
Amazon has done some material on same sex relationships and transgenders...
Seeing it as normal... and trying to get the rest of us to see it as normal.

That in and of itself... is a large negative for Amazon.

It's almost 2019....pretty much all TV networks are doing the same.

Nobody seems to care anymore...

I have an idea...

Lets start shopping at local 'brick and mortar' outlets...

And the delivery folks will LOOSE their jobs...
(Other than the post office... I understand it is impossible to be fired from there)

Grin
Love the thought of it, but sadly, it's no longer possible for a lot of the things we buy. Especially for people like me who buy obscure electronics do-dads.

According to notifications, I had a package actually arrive on time today. USPS.

Now to get home and see if it's at my house or the neighbors.

I hate WalMart, especially grocery shopping there. For me, Amazon has been cheaper in most cases and have arrived without many goof ups. Occasionally it will take longer than expected, but it beats standing in line at WalMart

Yeah... Walmart is a mess...
The ones in my area are crowded for the holiday season.

The key to getting checked out at Walmart: I park next to the garden center, one can park closer to the store. Yeah, one walks a little farther in the story... however walking is good exercise... grin. And the check-out registers just inside the door from the garden center are rarely crowded... even during holiday shopping season.

Anyone tried the on line shopping and pickup at Kroger? They seem to have a lot of "personal shoppers" out in the store picking up stuff for people. Don't know that I'd like someone else picking out my eggs or produce though...

I've done it at Walmart. Worked pretty well and much better than actually going shopping inside a Walmart.

I have still not heard from the PM or carrier supervisor at the Dallas PO. I have an inside source (who I am trying to keep out of it) who tells me they delivered it to the wrong residence and are trying to get it back. I did not get by there yesterday but called again and was promptly hung up on because of my attitude. "She who is feared by slack asses" has put me in time out and taken over the PO case. They will soon wish they had dealt with me. Received a package from UPS yesterday, on time in good condition.

I realize this is like a broken record (remember those...)

However if the Postal system cannot behave like adults....
We need competition... so they can learn how to...
Or be put out of business!

I now have a UPS Surepost shipment that has been in Atlanta since Saturday and the Post Office hasn't received it yet.
It got to the PO Wednesday morning and was delivered Wednesday afternoon. Looks like the USPS is winning the shipping season so far.

As bad as I hate to admit it, the USPS is doing a better overall jobs with small packages than anyone.

UPS used to be my fav, but they have been screwed since Black Friday of last year.

Quick update. Please find attached my latest update from the taxpayer subsidized USPS..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................Chirp,chirp............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................That pretty much covers it.

Yet again, a package shipped with Amazon is late, then I get a message that it's undeliverable.

Yeah, they gave me a refund, and an extra $5 for my trouble, but geeze they need to get it together!
