Will the 23rd time be the charm?

One hour until the latest launch attempt for Boeing's Starliner. I hope for everyone's sake it all goes smoothly.

Then a SpaceX Starship test (4) scheduled for tomorrow if they make it.

Great time in history to be a spaceflight junky....

Well this flight has been a mess. How would you like to go on a planned 7 day business trip and end up being stuck somewhere for 8 months in a little hotel room?? :nono:

It seems nobody can decide if this thing can return safely or not, but on top of that, Boeing in their great judgement, took out all the flight proven automatic flight software when they got ready for manned flight, so it can't even fly back on its own.

But.... just think of the frequent flyer miles they are racking up !

I wondered if they got extra pay like flight pay or something like it. If so they may be cleaning up.

LOL, I found this:

Do astronauts get paid more while they're in space?
The short answer is yes, we do get paid more in space. Like many jobs that require travel, astronauts receive a per diem while they are in space. At the end of my 152 days in space I had earned a whopping $172.00 (about $1.20/day). I guess when you consider that food and boarding expenses were covered, it's a reasonable (but still cheap) estimate (I would have done WAY better with mileage!).
Remember that for me --being an astronaut—was amazing, but it IS a government job with government pay. But that’s okay too, it's a job I did because I dreamed of and loved it, not because of the money I could earn.
