What was up.......

....with Benson's this morning? We waited for an hour and I never got my compete breakfast. I left without my pancake (a personal tragedy, I assure you), and Mrs. LTD never got her sausage. People were leaving in droves without eating and they couldn't get hardly anything out of the kitchen.

This is one of our regular places to eat, and I have never seen it like this. The waitress would just say that they were having some problems in the kitchen. No exaggeration, I could have done better by myself and I have never worked in a restaurant. I feel sorry for the waitresses. I hope that this was a one day thing.

Having been in and around the restaurant business for almost 40 years; they are all gonna have bad days. Odds are someone called in sick or something similar.

I wouldn't hold an isolated instance against them. If it continues, then it might be time to reconsider your patronage.

The cook probably quit!! I've never been to Benson's but that would be my guess. We had pancakes with homemade blueberry syrup this morning. :)

Never heard of the place.

It was Rodney's BBQ 2 on Hwy 92. Rodney originally opened it with a partner, a guy that worked with him in his construction business. Then when the economy tanked and the construction biz failed, the partner bought him out.

It's the old Hiram Hickory House on 92 which became Rodney's South, which became Benson's. We eat there a lot and have never had this problem. There were three people in the kitchen trying to cook and one of them was a waitress. There wasn't a manager in sight, as I would expect if the cook had quit, but maybe he quit on a day when the manager was out of town. I was just wondering if anyone knew.
