What happened to the Democrat party?

My father, a union man and a shop steward, has voted democrat for over 50 years. However the democrat party has evolved into an pro-gay, anti-white man party. According to democrats, older white guys who happen to attend church by definition must be racist or religious zealots. Now each and every employee must attend sensitivity and diversity training to avoid offending others. In the old days, you could get into an old-fashioned cuss fight at work and afterwards, have a cup of coffee and move on. Now if you even ruffle someone's feathers, you get put in front of a microphone and a disciplinary committee. What a bunch of hogwash. Many times the company has made an example out of older white guys and the union has remained silent.

Further, the democrat party has gotten so far out there, they've left many of their own supporters changing party. The left kept pushing the LGBT transgender anti-religious platform and he said enough!

He let his vote be his voice of displeasure with both the union as well as the democrat party and he voted for Donald Trump. The 1st time in over 50 years, he voted for the republican party. Enough democrats actually have had enough of the far-left pro-gay 24/7/365 socialist movement of the party and it looks like Trump might just win a 2nd term in a landslide.

My Dad said that JFK was the last democrat he ever voted for. Listening to old You Tubes of JFK, you'd think he was Ronald Reagan Jr. There also used to be a time when people would be disappointed when their man didn't win the presidency, but they fell far short of attempting to overturn a duly elected Presidential election. Pure evil has crept into the liberal party and instead of rejecting it, they are embracing it. The liberals have gotten to the point that they don't even attempt to hide their true agenda like they used to.

I believe they are falsely assuming that a majority of Americans are buying what they're selling, but I also believe it will come back to bite them. As in the very late term abortion issue, I've seen polls report that even hard core pro-abortionists fall short of supporting infanticide.

But they are bamboozled by the likes of AOC and the other ignorant millennial leftists. I believe they will realize around November of 2020 that they hitched their horse to the wrong wagon.

TRUMP 2020
Keep America Great!

Democrats have been fooling a lot of people for years by running as moderate and then governing as liberals once they got into office,

Just recently, they have become cocky and are no longer hiding their extreme Socialist positions.

There is some indication that Americans are finally seeing what the Dems really are, and many might be walking away from the party. I can only hope this continues.

One can hope. I think they are also dealing with having been successful for so many year and can't deal with roadblocks like Trump.

The Liberal reaction to the support of the Traditional Plan in the United Methodist Church Conference last week shows the hateful ways they claimed that anyone who didn't vote for their plan were bias.

It's like they all can't hear themselves. Or missed the semester in college where they offered the logic class.

Sadly, I think there's just an abundance of irresponsible, illiterate, and uniformed American voters out there. That's just the cold hard reality. We can blame it on many things but just drive around your downtown area or inner city and get a taste of what is out there. It's not how we were raised.

I would like to think I understand what is going on... however my tiny little sphere of life does not sample near a large enough group to see the diversity of political beliefs.

What I AM seeing... though...
Is more and more folks shaking their heads at the corruption that is called govt.

Lets hope this is a trend... and folks will start to think about what is good for the country...
Rather than who is gonna line my wallet the most.

Personal opinion:
Trump is gonna win a second term...
And he will have a GOP house that is less RINO's and NeoCons...
And maybe, just maybe... we can get some serious reform done during that next term.

Meanwhile... I am kinda enjoying watching the left 'self destruct'...
And they are doing a bang up job of it!

As the Democratic Party is shifting more and more to socialism, it will be interesting to see what union leadership does. I see the rank and file members of unions supporting more GOP candidates as they will see the Democratic Socialists as threats to their well-being. Union leaders are all about power on the other hand and have had Democrats in their pockets for decades. Will they be able to do this with Democratic Socialist candidates?

I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that we’re using Socialism and the USA in the same sentence. May as well say Bigfoot is real.

I talked with a friend who came from Russia earlier in the week. She still has family there and goes back to visit now and then.

She said that in many ways, we are now more Socialist than Russia is. They still have their problems, but have been implementing Capitalist reforms since the Gorby era. If we're not careful, Russia could eventually overtake us as an economic power.

Article from Newt Gingrich:

Speaker Nancy Pelosi – and the old guard Democrats at large – are in a very difficult position.
The radical young voters the Democrats have been courting for years have finally elected like-minded radical young representatives – and Pelosi and her leadership team has no control over them.
A big reason why, as I mentioned on Hannity this week, is that there is a wide generational gap between Democratic House leadership and freshmen Democrats, such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and others.
The median year of birth for the 59 Democrats who assumed office this year is 1973. Sixteen of these members were born on or after 1980. Nancy Pelosi was born in 1940. The average age of Democratic leadership as a whole is 71. To the new Democrats, the members of leadership are like the grandparents. I don’t mean this in a positive way that could foster an opportunity for maternal or paternal mentorships. To the new Democrats, Pelosi’s team represents an outdated, backward way of thinking about government. How many 30-somethings do you know who share the same point of view as their 80-year-old grandparents?
The result is, these new Democrats are throwing a party – and the grandparents aren’t invited. Pelosi and members of Democratic leadership are simply trapped in a cycle of responding to headlines. This is how you end up with the so-called Green New Deal, which is a work of complete legislative fantasy that would utterly bankrupt the country. It’s also how the House got to a second forced public condemnation of the new Democrats’ flagrant anti-Semitism. Pelosi simply can’t control the young, radical, progressive wing, which is ardently socialist, anti-Israel, and contemptuous of America and its history.
This gap will continue to create massive cross-pressure in the party. For the Democrats who represent moderate districts – perhaps districts that voted for President Trump – the radical left-wing of the party is terrifying. Meanwhile, those who represent radical districts are going to continue having their party and continue to ignore the old guard.
This is not at aberration. The new class of Democrats despise Pelosi and the grandparents. The old guard has failed to create the radically progressive, socialist America that the new guard wants. This phenomenon has some similarities with conservative voters who widely rejected establishment Republicans and the liberal voters who rejected Hillary Clinton in the 2016 primary.
Already, because of Pelosi’s inability to control her caucus, the Democrats can’t do anything positive. It’s making them desperate. The most they can do is focus their efforts on their shared vendetta against President Trump and everyone in his orbit.
The 81 subpoenas that House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler levied against Trump allies – many of whom are private citizens who never intended or wanted to become public figures – is a perfect example of this desperation. Democrats are slowly realizing – with dawning horror – that Robert Mueller is not likely to provide them anything close to a smoking gun in their crusade against the President, so they are resorting to punishing his political campaign, family members, and longtime private sector employees in a vindictive public display. They are seeking to hurt anyone and everyone who has helped President Trump in any way. At best, it’s a gross political circus. At worst, it’s callous abuse of power.
These divides in the Democratic Party are only going to become more pronounced as Pelosi’s grip slips further. The new Democrats’ private party will become increasingly raucous until it has lost all touch with normal Americans. Moderate Democrats will have to continue answering for their colleague’s radicalism. Pelosi and the grandparents will not be invited along, but they will still be left cleaning up the mess.
Your Friend,
Newt
(end)

Personal opinion: The radical far left is currently in a power grab in the DIM party... I doubt they will succeed. What they ARE gonna do... is wake up the rest of America... as well as irritate a lot of long time DIMS... who will leave the party.
Gonna be a messy year in 2019... IMO we will start to see some sanity in 2020.
