Today - Finishing up the back yard and opening the pool.

Tonight - Date night with "She who adores me"

Saturday - Sleep in a bit, then Guard Daughter is having a pool party here

Sunday - AM church, then whatever

Tonight - Dinner and hopefully watch some of my shows. Been too tired lately to get through them.

Saturday - lots of stuff to do. Install 2 ceiling fans, replace door lock on front door with a different type, put together a new bed.... and prob a lot more. Oh I do need to pause and watch the Alabama Spring football game on ESPN. At least it is some college football, practice or not.

Sunday - AM church (hopefully in person), lunch and finally chill out.

This afternoon: Visitation and service for a good friends mother, then reception for the family at their church.

Tonight: Not sure.

Saturday: Go visit FIL with my son, FIL has quit eating and drinking willingly, I think he's ready to go. Then work on some more stuff for mom's estate.

Sunday: Church, then TBD.

..... just waiting for College Football.

Well, weekend went way off the plans. Got a call at 4:30 AM Sat that my FIL had passed, so we dressed and headed to Rome. Thursday, her mom had what they called a "TIA stroke" but I'd call a full on stroke. Couldn't swallow, left side of mouth drooping, speech messed up.

She was so out of it Sat morning, that we decided to wait until she asks about my FIL before we tell her anything, we're not sure it will register anyway.

Spent the afternoon at the funeral home then had all the grandchildren (of ours) over to have some family time.

Went to church this morning, then odd and ends.

Do not want to go to work tomorrow. If I thought I could afford it, I'd send in the papers in six months when I turn 62.

Sorry to hear that. Hope your MIL recovers fully. :pray2:

I am so sorry. When you wrote he willingly stopped eating I was worried.

My mom did the same. It was so hard knowing there she was alive, and I was with her, holding her hand, and yet surreal to understand that with out food or water it would be days until she would no longer be with us.

I hope your MIL makes a full recovery. I worry that often elderly married couples pass quite close to each other when they lose their partner.

Odd to become the Patriarch or Matriarch of your family as you and your wife are facing.

Just take each day as it is, and be in the moment. You will get through your work day. :pray2::pray2::pray2:
