Weekend?

Still getting a little better every day? Have they given any indication when you would get to go home?
Getting better, but sounds like I'll be be here for awhile. First goal is to get my oxygen down to 40-50% and they will move me back to a regular room. I want this for several reasons, two being privacy and they might allow visitors. Been a long time since I've seen my family.

I yelled quite a bit as it hurt like hell. It was very painful trying to walk with a shoe on.
Flip flops... luckily it is almost summer...

We women are more fortunate, our choices of a sandal to work will not be seen as inappropriate... let's the little piggy heal after smacking it and breaking it.

Somehow I totally missed the thread about your COVID ordeal. I just went back and found it. I had no idea you have been sick and in the hospital. I hope you get well soon and get back home to your loved ones.

Friday-chores, supper with wife
Saturday- yard work, chores, Kentucky Derby, grill out with wife
Sunday- yard work, visit with mother, chores

Some great news today! I have a new doc and I really like him. He seems to know his stuff and he talks to me.

The big announcement...they lowered my supplemental oxygen to 55%. This is a huge step forward.

Doc plans on getting me out of here within a couple of weeks if all goes to plan. I'll still be doing rehab from home, but at least I'll be home with my family, my bed, my speakers (LOL).

My sincere thanks to all my wonderful friends for praying for me. Please keep them coming.

Wow...a couple weeks!!!!!

I am so sorry, I really did not think you would need to be in there this long.

It will be nice to be home.

Glad you like the new Doc.... :love1:

I didn't think I'd be here do long either. Apparently, covid pneumonia is very hard to get out of the lungs. They just started me on a new regimine of steroids and antibiotics, so hopefully that does the trick.

same here.

hopefully you're on the mend

...... that being said, if you take a sudden turn for the worse and things start to really go downhill, well... you know, I could use a new set of speakers or two.

just sayin'

A coworker's brother in law was just admitted to the hospital with covid pneumonia. I don't know much about the guy except he has had some serious health issues in the past. If you have any nuggets of wisdom that might help him get through this, I'd love to pass them along. Thanks!

Probably gonna be a rough ride for him. I'm gonna admit now that I was very much in danger of dying when I got here.

A lot of it is gonna depend on the doctor he gets. My first one didn't seem to do me much good. They changed my entire doctor team and the ones I have now seem to know their stuff.

He needs to fight. Sit up in tye chair as much as possible and use the breathing machine they will likely give him. That might hurt, but will help to clear his lungs.

Last but not least, pray hard.

Thanks. Apparently his oxygen level is in the low 80's which if I remember right is what yours was also. From how my coworker described his condition earlier today, he should have been in the hospital a few days ago at least. :(

I should have come sooner too.
