...internet again!! :cheer1 :cheer1

Oh no I didn't use the cheerleader smiley. I'm so ashamed.

Nice use of the :cheer1 smiley!

Yep, I have internet. On a really happy note, this house has fiber-optic service. I'm currently watching some stuff online while I prepare some materials for my sub tomorrow (I'll have to tell you that story after I know more about it).

It is so amazing how well everything is coming through. I even had a few updates to install and I did so while watching. There was no change in speed. Keep in mind I've purchased the slowest high speed internet available in the area. The only think I notice is the occasional shimmery lines on the screen. The old house was supposed to get fiber-optic (if I would make the call) for free. I chose not to because my landlord was tossing me out and tearing the place down. I'm liking the fiber-optic. I looking forward to trying to upload pictures to SmugMug. Maybe it won't take hours and hours to upload just 20 pictures.

One thing I'm still getting used to (off the internet topic) is that very few of the light switches for a particular room are in the actual room. The kitchen and bathroom (which are both additions to the main house) do not have light switches. The one for the kitchen is in the living room and the one for the bathroom is actually in the stairway outside the bathroom. The one for the stairway is in the kitchen, and the one for the basement is in the stairway. Very annoying!

We've found a somewhat similar problem with the light switches as well. This house was built in 1997...so it isn't very old, but they have odd places form some switches. We also had to get used to no overhead lights/ceiling fans in common rooms (Living Room/ Family Room). Strange.

Waski, I'm thinking someone didn't want to walk into a dark room. LOL

Skippy, it's not unusual for the living room or family room to not have overhead lights. When we lived up North, most of the houses we lived in did not have overhead lights in the living/family room. It's definitely a Yankee thing.
