US takes out Al Qaeda leader Ayman Al Zawahiri in 'successful' Afghanistan counterterrorism operation

I don't mean to be a Debbie downer but it's all fun and games until someone returns the favor. It's going to happen, just a matter of when. Then you know what breaks loose.

I thought we killed him years ago. :dunno:
Ayman Al Zawahiri appeared in a video last year commemorating 20 years after the 9/11 terrorist attacks despite rumors that he died months earlier.

Officials on Monday said Zawahiri continued to produce videos once he arrived at the safe house in Kabul. Officials said the U.S. "should not be surprised if Zawahiri filmed additional videos that may be released subsequent to his death."

Yes, it's good news, but how many months will Biden brag and take credit for it?
As if this redeems him from the abortion that took place in Afghanistan for the botched withdrawal of troops. The terrorists still have $85B of US military hardware that Biden gave them.

Heartfelt condolences are sent to Ilhan Omar for the loss of her loved one!

Interesting: Biden trashed Trump for taking our Soleimani....

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Former Vice President Joe Biden on Friday ripped President Trump’s decision to authorize an airstrike that killed Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani -- the commander of Iran's secretive Quds Force and one of the country's most powerful figures -- asking if the administration is prepared for what could come next amid retaliatory threats.

Using a teleprompter to deliver his speech, Biden called the move “an enormous escalation” and asked the crowd if the administration had a plan for what comes next.

“Nothing we’ve seen from this administration over the past three years suggests they are equipped to deal with the very real risk we now confront,” he said.

Biden said Trump’s “maximum pressure” campaign has failed on multiple counts and that the latest action puts the U.S. “on the brink of a major new conflict in the Middle East."

Biden Slammed Trump When He Took Out ISIS’ Al-Baghdadi, Iran’s Soleimani... if they killed him on the weekend, why wait until Monday to tell the public?

When Trump confirmed in October 2019 that U.S. special forces had found and killed ISIS founder and leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Biden did not offer simple congratulations, but said the operation had succeeded despite Trump’s “erratic” behavior

Former Vice President Joe Biden, a leading 2020 White House hopeful, said on Monday that ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed in a U.S. military operation despite President Trump’s “ineptitude” as commander in chief.
“I’m glad President Trump ordered the mission,” Biden said in a statement. “But as more details of the raid emerge, it’s clear that this victory was not due to Donald Trump’s leadership. It happened despite his ineptitude as commander-in-chief.”

“His erratic behavior made it harder and more dangerous for the special forces carrying it out. And they had to fly through territory that is now hostile to the U.S., taking fire along the way—including territory we controlled just weeks ago,” Biden said.
