Update on my girlfriend....terrific day, it was.

Scooby

The Lawn Mower Repairman!!
I met my mother (who is a retired pastor) and we rode together to see Rainy (my GF) at Grady today. She was doing very well, and completely mentally competent, and can move everything except one leg, even though she can move her foot and toes on that leg. We laughed and loved, and had a great time. Mom led her in the sinner's prayer and it was a wonderful day. Keeo teh prayers coming, folks because they are working wonders!

I love your siggy...forgetting about ourselves and our own troubles, and focusing on those around us is the key to salvation. If we think of others, in spite of our own plights, God will take care of our own (seemingly insignificant) problems. Life is funny...how we can get so buried in our own troubles, when all we need to do is look around us and see that no matter how bad we think things are for us, there is always someone who has it much worse. ;)

It's so easy to get caught up in our own troubles that we often fail to see others who are in worse shape. I firmly believe God wants us to trust Him with our own problems, while we focus on others...many who do not even know that there is a loving God who will gladly help them in ways they could never imagine....but it's OUR duty to help them understand who HE is, and how HE can help them. There's nothing like seeing a sinner's eyes change right in front of you once they have accepted Christ into their lives. You can see it physically!! And it's the height of joy you'll ever experience on this earth.....to bring someone into the fold.

You keep that up and we'll have to pass the offering plate.

J/K. It really is wonderful news. :)

You are right Glenn.

At the end of 2009 hubby lost his job. We did whatever work we could find. While it was not great, it was all put into perspective when we found out hubbies cousin had cancer. Makes a problem like shitty or nonexistent jobs become nothing at all. We both agreed we would rather be under-employed than fighting cancer!

...so what if we did not know where we would work the next week. God gave us jobs weekly. We never paid a bill late... with faith in God, things will work out.

That was also right when the flood of 2009 in Paulding happened. It gave hubby a lot of time to help people whose homes had been flooded. Hubby was a volunteer with Samaritans’ purse to clean up the flooded houses in Paulding, Douglas, and Cobb counties… another reality check… We had our home all-dry and no mold or water damage… even though we did not have regular jobs!

It was nice to be there for people, and bring the love of Christ to them, at probably one of the worst times in their life.

What a great thing for your husband to do Far West! Instead of feeling sorry for himself, he was out helping others that were in dire need. The world would be a better place if everyone had that attitude!

Great news Subby! I hope each and every day will get better for your girlfriend - she will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

:thumbsup

It filled up his days and kept him from dwelling on the bills - that is for sure. When you are literally praying for others, and with others - it keeps you close to God.

He still helps when he can.

When the tornados hit Alabama in 2011, he worked with Samaritans’ purse again on the weekends.

When the Tornados hit here, he and others from our church went to help cut up downed trees, and haul off debris. Our church community learned a lot from the floods.
