Trump's speech is now history.....

From what I saw of Trump's speech it was good. He's not the best with speaking using a teleprompter but he did well.

Did anyone else notice that much of Ivanka's speech before Donald's included many democrat talking points?

I actually missed Ivanka's speech and the first part of Trump's, we turned it on mid-speech but what I heard I liked. I'm sure we'll hear it all day in the media so I'll catch up on the part we missed.

I was working day and night this week and didn't see any of the convention. I'll try to stream Trump's speech sometime this weekend.

I watched until 11 pm. You know us pesky republicans....we have to get up for work the next day. What I saw I liked and agreed with. I will actually be surprised if he is elected, but my prayer is he will be. First, you have the democrats who wouldn't vote for a republican if their children's very lives depended on it. Those are not the ones who concern me. The people who concern me are the closet intellectuals who arm chair quarterback everything the man says because he's not a brilliant orator or he looks funny or he's blunt and not sophisticated.

I am weary from defending the person who I believe to be a kind, decent man and father and husband to the masses of those who look only for fault in the man. Those people will get exactly what they deserve come November. I have to suppress a chuckle at times when I think of my dear departed brother, whom I loved dearly. He was the advice giver of the family, whether you asked for it or not. He would corner me every time we visited and give me his words of wisdom about everything from women to my career to politics to finance and everything else under the sun. What I wanted to say, but never did out of respect for my elder brother was this: "Dude....you live in a single wide trailer on an eighth of an acre lot. You're a good man, but yet in your 50's you cut hair for a living and have never settled in one place for more than 5 years."

I will continue to watch with interest and will vote in November. Maybe that idiot, weird looking guy that made 10 billion dollars from being so stupid will win. I sure hope so...

I thought it was one of his better speeches. He ran of at the mouth a little toward the end with the very very's and the believe me's, and the USA chant, but when he stuck to his script, he came across almost presidential. I liked the parts where he acknowledged the fact that black children in Chicago deserve the same education and the same dreams as all children, but his LBGT "Q" came off as trite.

He started off in the right foreign policy direction by saying that we don't need to be nation building any more, and then turned it around to make it sound like he is for just blowing them up and letting God decide. I think he missed a real opportunity there to differentiate himself from Hillary in a good way. He also sounded like a 1960 protectionist when it comes to trade, nothing he said is borne out by fact other than we have signed some bad deals of late, but here again he runs off the end of the pier instead of just leaving Hillary on the beach. He is missing some opportunities to show how poor the left deals with problems without trying to one-up them in that regard.

But overall, one of his better efforts. It must have had an impact, because The Hill and Huffpo just went balls out today reprinting every evil thing anyone anywhere has to say about him.

I got home from work last night around 12:30 and when I turned the TV on after a long shower, C-SPANN was just rerunning. I didn't expect it to be so long but it was a great speech and you could tell he was well coached for this one. At 2:45am I dragged my happy butt to bed since I had been up since 6am.
