Repeal and Replace was one of the cornerstones of his campaign. If he doesn't come through on it, there will be hell to pay.Glad to see him back down a bit. Maybe he will listen to reason, but I have my doubts. The problem is that he doesn't seem to have any deeply held economic understanding, and believes that if it is politically expedient, if it is what people want, it's therefore the best option. People want free stuff, politicians want to give them free stuff so they can stay in power, but there is no such thing as free stuff.
I am greatly disappointed in both as well. As you pointed out, the GOP had years to develop a plan that would have effectively replaced Obamacare. They not only failed, but they have lied to to the voters. If the GOP wants to maintain the majority in both houses, they must write and pass an effective replacement before the mid-term elections.I'm getting the feeling that Repeal and Replace was dead from the point that the GOP had never bothered to actually create a viable plan in the previous eight years since Obama Care came to be. It sounded to me that this last bill was a lot like Obama Care, something thrown together and never reviewed, with a bunch of add-ins to get votes and just put out there to sound like they were trying to meet their promise. However, the promise was to FIX it, not just replace it with something just as crappy.
I am sorely disappointed in this GOP congress and Trump at this point.
Me neither.I have no use for either paety anymore.
Some will, some won't.why is it that people will say they only donate to the person, not the party yet they will vote for the party regardless of the person?
how will that jack up the taxes any more than Trump? The Dems will not settle for anything less than a single-payer program that will jack up taxes for everybody.
Though I'm opposed to a big-government program from either party; the Democrats almost always demonstrate a complete and total lack of understanding of how a market driven economy works, and they are the champions at the "tax the rich and give it away to the poor" game. In other words...Socialists.how will that jack up the taxes any more than Trump?
Frack the Democrats. We remember them saying that "elections have consequences" Let's show them some. I'm sick and tired of being called "obstructionist" when they are in charge and "bully" when we are. I don't like Trump, but he chose a good guy for the Court. lets get him in there. Republicans promised REPEAL AND REPLACE. Do it . They p[promised defunding PP. Do it. They promised tax reform. Do it. School choice. Do it. Do it all and do it before November 2018. make our programs the Obamacare that they can't undo.IMO, this whole battle can be won. Mitch "I wish I had a chin" McConnell needs to grow a set of testicles and put Schumer on the sidelines. What part of "we won" escapes the RINOs? Stop negotiating. Go nuclear. Take their spoons away from them, let them sit in their highchairs and bawl.
Every country that has a single-payer program, pays for it with a value-added tax, which is a national sales tax.how will that jack up the taxes any more than Trump?
Those taxes run between 25% and 40% and are paid by everyone including the poor. A new Camry in Denmark runs as much as a Jaguar does here, and when allowing for purchasing power parity, the "Nordic Model" countries have spendable incomes equal to or below the poorest states in America. There is no such thing a "free" anything no matter who hands you the check, and single payer ALWAYS leads to wait times for simple tests and procedures that Americans would find untenable.Every country that has a single-payer program, pays for it with a value-added tax, which is a national sales tax.
