I just had to vent that somewhere. I only wish sometimes that it could be possible to reach through the computer and choke someone into understanding the truth. Oooooooo, I have to quit now.

Those people who try to mis-use the Bible for their twisted purposes are those who never read it except to pull out a few verses completely out of context. There are loads of historical information in the Bible that is accurate and sets the stage to send God's message. Just because it's in there in no way means the activity is condoned.

I heard a pastor respond to such misuse by saying that the Bible is a love letter from God to his children and wondered why all these heathens were reading someone else's mail :p
 
What kills me is, this individual said she didn't know the Bible very well, but then went on to say slavery was ok under Christian law. Huh?
 
Just because God allows something by permissive will, does not mean He condones it, or blesses it. People just don't get that.

You were more kind than me by calling him an "individual". I clearly think they are the devils work sometimes.Ooooooo

Don't let him fool you, he knows plenty on the Bible, well, at least he thinks he does. His liberal take on scripture perverts the word to the point where it can't be understood. Look back through some of his (zooscrew) posts and you'll see what I'm talking about. It is almost a conscious effort to state "I'm not a bible scholar" or "I don't know much about the bible" just to throw off those who might be willing to say he is tbar. Not fooling me.
 
Oh, and FTR, the Bible most certainly does NOT condone slavery. Jesus came to set the captives free...DUH...
 
I saw it, read it, thought about commenting. I decided that he just isn't worth it. At this point for him it may take a stronger person then us to get through.
