This guy has it right

I don't agree that the Democratic Party is imploding any more than the Republicans are. I do believe that the voters are not buying the BS that the Democrats are the sensible ones and the Republicans are the party of "Hitleresque" racists and tyrants. Both parties are moving further apart, that's true, and Bernie is a leader of the DSA movement that pulled them in that direction. What bothers me is that our education system is so poor that a Socialist can actually have such influence and nearly take the nomination.

The message that voters sent in November was to the Beltway, not to the Democrats alone, and unless the Republicans get a grip on policy, they will find themselves on the outside looking in in the coming congressional elections. They were handed the golden egg and apparently have no idea what to do with it.

The Democratic Party is imploding. Could it be imploding because of the "alt-left?"
Let them implode. The damage they have done to this country and the division they have brought to the American people makes them deserving of an even worse fate.

I do think the Dems are imploding. But that doesn't mean the GOP is flourishing.

But there is a down side to the Dems imploding; the GOP will become cocky and abuse their power same as they did under Dubya.

All politicians suck. They have not been for the people for a long time. More interested in lining their own pockets. That is our major issue. Money flows from the SIGs into their pockets and that is like crack to them. If someone truly cared about balancing the budget and getting our country out of debt then maybe I could reverse my feelings on it. But I highly doubt it will change. Even our states have been sucking on the Federal Government teat for way too long. I dont have a clean answer for anything that will get us back on track. Maybe Trump will be able to reverse our course but you can see how the media and the left are doing their best to make that impossible. But the RHINOs are not going to really help either. Which comes back to my point... politicians suck.

I am seeing quite a few Liberals who are being left behind in the lurch to the far left.

These are Democrat voters who now favor Trump, mostly due to his opposition to illegal immigration.

The hysteria on the Left is causing a slight shift in the middle... just my from personal observations.

This story was pretty interesting :

Liberal Gay Atheist New Yorker Turns To Trump

The Dems are in full panic / reset mode with no solid direction acceptable to moderate voters. The GOP is in complete control so there's only one way for them to go from here. Obviously they'll eventually lose ground but it won't be anytime soon thanks to the sickos on the fringe left. I sincerely hope they continue acting completely idiotic so it drives even more voters away.

There's also Obamacare which screwed up everyone's insurance.

The Republicans need to rip that band aid right off in a hurry...

Cover the poor and let the free market loose... I want my freedom of choice back.

The GOP is in a fantastic position to really set this country back on the right course by rolling back the size and scope of the federal government and taking the handcuffs off the economy. If they would do that, the resulting economic boom would bring prosperity back to the American people, and the dramatically increased tax revenues would start to address the nation debt if congress can keep from spending all the extra money.

But sadly, I have little confidence the GOP will stick to a fiscally conservative agenda.

Yea, I think that they had no more thought than the Democrats that Trump would win nor that they would do so good on his coattails. Because of that, they took the easy route and complained a lot rather than actually have plans ready for implementation.

<sigh>

We all remember how Obamacare arrived on the scene nearly fully formed days after Obama was sworn in. That thing had to have been on the shelf for months if not years.

How long could it take to staple together everybody's bill that had anything to do with health care and put a new cover on it. They never even read the thing.

I see both parties becoming irrelevant... that is how Trump got to the white house.

The same lame re-treads keep running. How many Bushes do we need, how many Clintons, how many years of misery of John McCain the RINO must we endure?

I think the republicans, who are supposed to be representing the conservative people, better start thinking about WHY people sent them there...it is NOT to KEEP 0bama care! The idiots, who we the people have sent to undo 0bama care, have each year been a YUGE disappointment. We will see if they screw the conservative voter again.

I did not vote for any incumbent republican. I voted for every libertarian I had an opportunity to vote for. I wrote in Micky Mouse where there was no other choice than a democrat or the incumbent.

The GOP has become a weak party because of the GOPe members that have been in Congress for decades. Those like McConnell, McCain, Graham, Ryan, et al have sold their constituents out on many occasions by making promises and then not making any effort to keep them. Trump won because he was all about change and bucking the status quo. Every member of Congress who seeks to be re-elected in 2018 needs to pay attention to why Trump was elected and act accordingly during the next two years. Those Republicans who support keeping Obamacare and reforming it stand a pretty good shot at losing their seats.
