Things I am thankful for today

Driving Instructor
1. That my husband was driving when my back tire went flat on 285.
2. That I actually had a jack, and a tire iron.
3. That I also had a good spare tire. OK the fact that I actually had a spare. :))
4. The DOT HERO unit.

We had to go to the VA hospital today. DH had two appointments. Anyway we did make it. And, everything is fine.
We did find out that DH needs to have cataract surgery. We don't know when yet.

Glad it all worked out for you!
Thanks it's the small things, that make you appreciate the big ones.

YES, MA'AM!!! As stated in the other thread, we've had two flats in the past few months in my mom's car. Yesterday was on a 2-lane between Adairsville and Rome, so that wasn't too bad. But the other one was on I-75 north of Chattanooga not near an exit and in between populated areas. I was in the left lane doing about 75 and passing a truck when the right front just blew. I immediately pulled over to the far right (Daddy drilled into us to get as far off the roadway as we could). The tire was totally shredded, and was within a hair of starting to shred the fender well (and then fender).

We got out of the car and stood up well away from the car and played football with nephew till the truck came to fix it. We were so thankful that it wasn't at night (which we had been planning to go the night before but changed our minds for some reason), and that I was able to get it off the road so quickly and without hitting anyone.

We thank the Lord frequently for taking such good care of us when we travel.

PS - 285 is the debil. I don't drive it unless I absolutely HAVE to.

Yes it is. I am so glad that they will be opening a VA clinic in Carolltion (sp) next month. We won't have to go to Decatur for as may specialties anymore.

If I had to drive to Decatur all the time, I'd prolly just kill myself. Some things are just WRONG, and that is one. ;)

That is why we make it as rare as possible. Thank goodness this is just every once in a while. We'll still have to go back some time soon. They are going to do cataract surgery. We just have to wait on the letter.

My mother had cataract on each eye a year apart...she was totally thrilled with the result.

Mrs. LTD sat in the parking lot at Prestige Jewelers for over an hour, and nobody would help her change a tire. I had to come from Douglasville. What's wrong with this world that a guy won't help a woman for 10 minutes on a Saturday afternoon?

I'm glad your experience was better G.

I think DH is kinda looking forward to it. They are going to do the right one first, It is really bad. They'll do the left one later. It apparently isn't as bad.
