MacDaddy said:Fox, the last time I did this, I had a house with a basement. Wasn't easy, but much easier than this. I ended up running 4 speakers, with wires behind the walls, in two rooms. One wall in both rooms was an outside wall, so I had the added pleasure of dealing with insulation. One room, I ended up adding a few holes in the wall to help me fish the wiring.
This house, which has a crawl space, should have been easier. It was one of those cases where everything that could have gone wrong - did.

Sorry to hear so much went wrong doing it.
When I get home, I'm replacing all my flooring. My master bedroom is above my family room and garage. I was thinking about taking the subfloor up to put in insultation between the bedroom floor and garage ceiling as there isn't any. I was also thinking about doing the same thing between the floor and the family room ceiling to act as a sound barrier. I thought perhaps it would be a lot easier to mount the speakers in the ceiling and run the speaker wires while the subfloor was up. I don't know though.
I agree. If you are going to be down to the subfloor, go ahead and spend a little extra time running the wiring. And use some good wiring, Monoprice.com is a good place to buy stuff like that.ShoeDiva said:Foxmeister said:MacDaddy said:Fox, the last time I did this, I had a house with a basement.
