The Grammy Awards

Niki Menaj was pure trash.

And Abby needs to go back to the lab (even though I love her).

Who's Abby? And duh on Niki Menaj...

By the way, RE: I will always love you - Dolly wrote and recorded that years ago, of course. (I think she's recorded it twice, but whatever.) Anyhoo, in the early 70s, I think it was, Elvis wanted to record it, but Col. Parker wanted Dolly to relinquish all royalty rights to Elvis. She said no and wouldn't back down even though he really wanted to record it. (I'm of the opinion that Col. Parker didn't do Elvis any favors much of the time, but that's a discussion for another day.) So anyhoo, she didn't give in, and then Whitney and others have recorded it since. IIRC, Dolly has made $6M off that one song. Awesomeness.

Yes!

And Pauley Perrette plays Abby Scuito on NCIS...the lab geek. She presented an award last night, but def seemed out of her element. However, I am a fan of hers anyway. :)

OHHH. Yeah, I know who she is, but forgot her name. I've tried watching NCIS several times, but can't quite get into it. Ditto CSI. But I do love me some L&O and Criminal Minds...

Don't :Stick me, but while I now know it is a Dolly song, at the time I thought it was WH's. So many of us while knowing it is originally Dolly's still associate that song with Whitney. Just thinking aloud, as to why they chose that one to use over some of the others.
LTD - I never knew LR ever recorded that song!

I figured it out! Well, not really but it was on the news. The blonde, black chick was doing a musical exorcism. Considering I have never seen or required an exorcism (outside of divorce court), I had no idea what she was doing. No talent at all. Where is Barry Manilow or Celine Dion when you need them.

Do you like Barry Manilow?

You're kidding. They wouldn't be going with me, then. I'd love to go to one of his concerts! The Chief says I'm a "classic". I like 60's and 70's television and music. I guess she's right!

If you like him you have to get to a concert of his! My husband does not really like him, but will admit that his concerts are just so entertaining you can not help but enjoy yourself! He always brings someone up from the audience to sing with him and stops and tells stories of his songs throughout the show.

One of the best concerts I ever went to was Jim Brickman. The curtain opens and there is nothing on stage but a grand piano. He came out and played for over two hours. It seemed like ten minutes. I'll never forget it. I'll bet Manilow puts on a great show. I'm starting to think one of us isn't necessary.

I still love Manilow. There. I said it.

I was also raised on bluegrass and old country. Love some Elvis, most 80s, including the disco. And I was a Whitney fan. But, unlike some others on tv the last few days, I haven't forgotten that the last 10 years were a train wreck.
