Re: Slow going, but at least it\'s going
I'll have to measure, but it's approximately 18 inches below the pipes. I actually had to measure up instead of down due to the movement of the garage doors. Sound a little crazy don't it? It's a little difficult to describe, but what I need to do is come down from the joists with a 2x4, about 2+ feet inside the doors to attach the "L" shape wall bracket for the hanging ceiling. That should leave enough space for the doors to be pulled up into the ceiling when I'm finished.
One little problem is not being able to support the ceiling frame for a space approximately 9 x 9 feet. If the wires were used for support in the traditional sense, it would be in the way of the movement of the doors. I will need to run 4 or 6 suspension wires at an angle from joists on either side of the door, to the approximate center of the ceiling frame.
Time will only tell if it will work :'(

And 'splain some more about the frame around the garage doors and how the ceiling will look when they're down/closed. Seriously...this is really coming along nicely!
