The Anti-Christ

Thankfully, I can't see the video but I am getting a little concerned...

We will get through this - look at it this way, it's halfway - we got through the first 4 years and we will get throuh the next 4.

I don't have time to watch a 22-minute video, but I don't see him in any way as being the Anti-Christ. Anti-Christ means in place of, or instead of. As in, you'll think it was Christ. I don't see Preezy having nearly enough charisma/charm to pull that off. People said the same thing about Bill Clinton. I didn't believe it about him, either, but I WAY YONDER more easily believe it of him than Obama.

Ah but, young grasshopper, some do.

I don't have time, or emotional stability, to watch tonight. I'll try later.

I just thought it was an interesting video and might make some good discussion.

It's an interesting video. I think I might get out my Strong's and start doing some of my own study on the subject of end times/prophecy.

I will say that the antichrist is going to be a gentile, while the false prophet is believed to be a Jew. I don't see any Jews willing to point people's affections to Obama. I could be wrong though.

OK, listen up, people!!! I am about to share my personal conviction on eschatology and the end times: I don't know, and I don't care. Pre-Trib Rapture? Post-Trib/Pre-Millenial Rapture? No Rapture? Don't know, don't care. I have ZERO interest in it. My mother is fascinated with it, and can study it for hours on end. Not I. As Michael Youssef says (pastor of Church of the Apostles at W. Paces and 41), I'm a Pan-Millenialist...one or the other will happen, and whichever way it does is fine with me. When the most educated and good-hearted of scholars disagree on such an issue, I'm sure not going to lose any sleep over it.

I find the study of eschatology very interesting. I do know that often there is error in mankind's interpretation of end time prophecy. Still, an interesting subject to me. :)

Like I said, it's one of Mother's favorite things to study about the Bible. Not I. I did want to find out once what John MacArthur thought about the rapture (whether it would occur, and if so, pre-tribulation) since he's a Presbyterian by background (and they are pretty much it won't occur). On his web site in that section, he said he thinks it probably will happen and will probably be pre-trib. He said he wasn't really sure, though, and added that good people disagree with that. He quoted some theologian whose name I have forgotten who said, "I know my theology's a little off somewhere...I just wish I knew where." :D

I don't think anyone can say when it will happen because there is no reference to a timeframe in the Bible. I heard at one time, the Catholic church kept Revelations out of the Bible.

No one knows the day or time and it is wise to leave that to the Father.

I've never considered the Catholic bible at all. Not discounting it, just have never read it or had a desire to do so.

SD or Genevieve - isn't the Catholic Bible the same as the Protestant Bible but with the Apocrypha added?

A friend of mine who is Catholic had told the Catholic Bible at one time did not contain Revelations. He said it does now though.

Good video, Fox. I watched all of it.

Non-Christians and/or Non-Believers discount such things as nonsense. Paranoid. That's their choice. I agree with deewee, but at the same time believe Christains should be watchful and not complacent.

I've mentioned this before, but this is a good place to repeat it. The Bible does say, in summary, that no one knows when Jesus will return. Not even the angels in Heaven. That being the case, satan is certainly not aware of the timeline. So....it only stands to reason that satan would have to have an adult leader ready to step in at any point in history to fill the shoes of the anti-christ.

In my opinion, it could have been Hitler, Stalin, Clinton, etc. But it was not on God's time-table, so we move forward to Obama. Could he be? Sure! I think he fits the bill. But is he? No one knows for certain.

For all we know, Romney could have been

The Spirit of Antichrist

The term "antichrist" is also used to describe a spiritual condition. In other words, it is descriptive of those people who oppose the true God.

"Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have arisen; from this we know that it is the last hour...22 Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son," (1 John 2:18,22).

In 1 John 4:3 John says that all who do not confess Jesus are of the spirit of the antichrist, "and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; and this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world."

The cults such as Mormonism, the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Christadelphians, the Christian Scientists, etc., are all of the Spirit of the antichrist since they deny the true Lord and Savior, Jesus.

Mark 13:35

Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

Martin Luther subtracted several books and changed some wording around to suit his agenda. Depending on the denomination, some have put some of them back or changed the wording back.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.
