I had about an hour to kill before a meeting this evening, and I spent it sitting on the deck jamming to tunes. realized just how much I enjoy that.

'Course, the killer sound system out there doesn't hurt. :spr :spr :DN

Dang bugs are bad this year though.

I'm heating the pool up tomorrow and gonna swim Saturday.

I like to listen to my music in the truck, I wish I had better gas mileage so I could cruise more.

I have a killer sound system outside. Two Polk Audio outdoor mains hanging under the eves, and two outdoor subs (a 10" and a 15") that I custom built. A 100 watt per channel receiver drives the mains and a 1600 watt PA amp drives the subs. I have a remote extender outside so I can control it all with the remote from the deck.

Good thing I live in the woods 'cause I can make some racket.

A deck is something I will miss at my new house. The old one had a nice deck, however small. I liked sitting out there and reading and drinking wine in the evenings. After I got wireless internet, I also enjoyed visiting the highway while I was out there.

In a few more years, I hope to build either a deck or patio for the current house. I have a vision in my head of connecting the house and the future garage by a nice deck.

But...you can keep your Georgia bugs and humidity!

I will say GD is right and the bugs are bad! I am thinking we are going to have to have someone come in and spray. I know it will not get rid of all of them, but some would help!

What stinking bugs? 8) I ran cable up through the exterior wall two weeks ago on our screen porch and mounted a flat screen on the wall. Now Mrs. Colson and I can either jam to tunes or watch Slingblade, The Braves and House Hunters outside this summer. :DN

How could I forget to add TOP GEAR!

Yes....I really am The Stig! 8)

You still are NOT The Stig, but I totally second using the screened-in porch. It's one of the main reasons I bought this house. LOVE IT!!!

How will your TV hold up to exterior weather? Will you take it off the wall during winter? What about high humidity/rainy weather?

My in-laws have a flat screen mounted on the wall of their screened in. They are up in the Nashville area, so winter is colder there, and they never take it down. They do, however, have some kind of cover for it. Idk what kind it is, though.

They have flat panel TVs that are completely waterproof now. But they are proud of them too.

Cool! I don't need specific information, since I'm not thinking of putting one out there; I was just wondering.

We have an older model TV mounted on our screen porch. It was my husband's father's day present one year.

It's been out there a long time and still works great, Mei Lan.

The things you learn! I don't care enough about it to put one out there, although I expect if a man lived here, he'd think that was just the bees knees. :D

Believe me, I thought about that....but was not willing to spring for the BIG $$$ for an outdoor TV. I know it won't get wet, but the humidity may not be great for it. So I got an "off brand" 27 inch and will take it down when the weather starts getting to cool. If it gives me 4 or 5 years, it should be worth it.

You know, I've had a boom box sitting out there, summer through winter, for 4 years and it still works fine. I'm thinking this TV will be fine too. I found some dust covers on-line that I can slip over it just in case. Time shall tell 8)

Ah, silly me...I should have known they make outdoor TVs. You boys and your toys. :D

Yes they make them, but no, I didn't buy one. Now if they were exposed to direct sun and rain, then it would be stupid not to buy one. But I ain't dropping over a grand on one when a regular TV will live 3 or 4 or 7 years in a screen porch. I've been watching the Braves on the porch this very night as a matter of fact 8)
