Selling a house....

Too bad I don't want to sell my house. Some of the "guestimates" I've gotten from realtor friends as to it's value at the moment make me salivate.

But no, I like it here and I've put way too much work into the place to sell.

Which is why it's worth so much. People with money that don't want to do all that work in this environment. It's a nice place. Even has speakers.

Update: Opendoor just dropped the price of my old house for the 6th time and it is now listed at only $100 more than what they paid me for it. The market is definitely getting worse.
We closed on the sale of our house just in time. I'm not gonna lie, I was beginning to sweat a little. The neighbor across the street listed theirs for $15k more than we sold ours and had a contract within 2 weeks. They close on the 20th so they also got lucky. I'm officially out of the house purchasing or selling for the remainder of my lifetime. Well, if someone offers me $1.5M for ours now I'd be out tomorrow and let them have everything in it. Otherwise....I'll die on this hill.

Final update....my old house just officially sold. Opendoor made a whopping $100 more than they paid me. I'm sure they made some money on the two transactions, but there is also no way to tell if they had to give money back to the buyer at closing.

Regardless, selling to Opendoor proved to be the right move and was so very easy.

Bringing back this thread for an unplanned update....apparently the FTC was a bit unhappy with Opendoor claiming they deceived home sellers. Opendoor agreed to pay $62 million in refunds to sellers. I got a check today for $885....free money!! :D

You can buy more speakers!

Our neighborhood is going thru a massive transformation.
Around the corner and down the street, there was an old, single story home on an acre lot.

It was purchased and leveled. Scraped ... Gone, Gone.

Builder comes in and puts up this huuuuge house - guest house, pool, modern landscaping, 5 car garage etc. etc.

Asking price 3.9 Million.

There ain't NO WAY

There ain't NO WAY they should have built such a small cheap house in my neighborhood!! We're not peasants!

Looks like your post got cut off. I fixed it for you.
